Write a reviewAfter making its debut in 2006 as the Deville's more stylish replacement, what would the 4 door Cadillac DTS do for an encore in '07? The luxury sedan got some cosmetic touches in the form of 5 new colors for the exterior, chrome wheels, and a redesigned analog clock. Otherwise, the DTS still caters to an older, more established crowd with its understated elegance. The DTS has 4 trims: the Sedan, Luxury 1, Luxury 2, and Performance. The first 3 use a 4.6 L, 275 hp, V8 engine and seat 6 while the Performance uses a 4.6 L, 292 hp V8 and seats 5. All 4 have 4 speed automatic transmission. Gas consumption across trims comes out to 17 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. Standard features include air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, leather seats, power seats, cd player, navigation system, ABS brakes, and traction control. In addition, the DTS holds 18.8 cubic feet in the trunk. Overall, drivers believe the DTS has adequately replaced the Deville as Cadillac's signature large luxury sedan. The roomy interior and solid handling make for an impressive driving experience. While some would like more gas mileage and more speeds in the transmission, no one denies that the DTS constitutes a worthy addition to the Cadillac family.

best features are the color inside and out warm and inviting. The car has features only found on the Platinum model like adaptive cruise control and rain sensing wipers, a rear window sunshade for hot sunny climates. Also it has no goofy sunroof to get smashed by the hail, Or heat the car to the temperature of an inferno in the summer. Car looks great in the photos. There were some minor flaws chipped paint on the bumper a tear in the center console upholstery. Dont know about the condition of the wheels. The headlights have yellowed some and been restored.
Upholstery is a camel color instead of white which is much better because it doesnt show the dirt so much. Also the tan camel color is much warmer than the cold White upholstery in other Cadillacs. I would be a buyer at a lower price. The prices have run up so much in one year.Feb 05, 2022

I liked my 2007 DTS very much. I bought it used and over time, needed repairs but overall, a great comfortable car. I would still have my DTS but a red light violator ran the red light and broadsided me on my driver’s side. Aug 21, 2021

Ive always been a huge fan of the body style for the Cadillac DTS! People might not want to drive a vehicle that has a V8 engine, but Im not to concerned about the extra cost of the fuel. Its not a deal breaker!!!Feb 14, 2021

This full sized vehicle excells at carrying people and all their luggage in serene comfort. Handling is clumsy/floaty, but DTS is about isolation and convenience, not engagement. Perfect for long trips, no amenity is lacking, dual climate control, autolamp, load leveling, sirius radio, heated/cooled seats, 6 passenger capacity, 6 airbags, sunroof, proximity alert for front and rear, and more. Leather aroma persists. HID headlamps shine far with sharp cutoff, and we love the remote start on hot or very cold days to deice or precool cabin.
The gas mileage is consistently in the upper 20's, on regular fuel, and the trunk is enormous. Not so great, is low seating, and a reach to close doors, but seat height can be adjusted somewhat. Daytime guage reflections, tire whine and 3rd brake lamp can break if trunk slammed in cold weather are drawbacks.Mar 13, 2013

The ride, the luxuary, the overall quality of the Cadillac DTS is absolutely wonderful. The Cadillac DTS preforms very well and handles very well for a large luxuary car. The luxuary ll package completes this car. Not to mention the fact that the DTS is absolute classApr 04, 2011

It tell YOU when to do everything. It's It won't run properly if
you don't change the oil exactly on time. It also has to have
synthetic everything including antifreeze which it likes to drink

This is the best BIG car I have ever owned! I had a 300C but it's still a Chrysler. No American car rides like the DTS. It has an Americana elegance that only this car can bring. The BMW 7series is just as good. BUT... The Caddy rules the road. I am in my late 30's and yes some call it an old man's car. But on those 6 hour trips I arrive with a smile on my face.Mar 08, 2009

How many sunroof drainholes are on a 2007 DTS?
Rain in front passenger floor when it rains hard. I poured water in sunroof track and it ran out front panel just about the glove box. I only found 1 drain hole--on the front driver side in the sunroof track. I could not find any others. Should there be 4?

Car won't stay started
I have a 2007 DTS that was overheating. I had the water pump replaced, 2 gaskets and a new belt put on the car. When I went to pick it up it would not start. I kept turning it and I heard sound, but nothing. The mechanic came out and after a few times of trying to start the car it started. Now the car dies when its idle or just really hard to start. Would anyone know what could be going on? The mechanic keeps checking the wires to see what is wrong, but they can't find the issue. I was told that when replacing the water pump they had to get to the engine to do so and maybe a wire got damaged. They can't find what is wrong. Could anyone tell what the problem could be?
