2005 Ford Crown Victoria Preview summaryImage

The 2005 Ford Crown Victoria continued its reign as the classic American large sedan. Beloved by taxi fleets and police departments everywhere in the United States, the solid Crown Vic offered a roomy, comfortable ride and a good deal of power under the hood.

Three trim levels were available for the '05 Crown Victoria: the base level Standard, the more luxurious LX, and the somewhat jazzier LX Sport. Even the Standard model was well-equipped, though, with four-wheel antilock disc brakes and power everything. Compared to full-size imports in its price range, like the Toyota Avalon, the 2005 Crown Victoria feels like a limo inside: Its headroom and legroom are generous, and its trunk has an awesome 20.6 cubic feet of cargo capacity.

But the real reason people love their Crown Vics is what's under the hood. And the '05 Ford Crown Victoria does not disappoint, with its 4.6-liter V8 clocked at 239 horsepower and 287 lb.-ft. of torque. A four-speed automatic transmission is the only one available. And considering the punch it packs, the 2005 Ford Crown Victoria is reasonably fuel efficient, with an EPA estimate of 18 miles per gallon city, 25 miles per gallon highway.

I believe that the older model of cars are sturdier than the newer ones. From the photo, this old Crown seems to need the drivers side headlight and a hood.Jan 30, 2024

The Sport LX model (2003-2008) is spectacular and probably one of the best long cruise cars ever made. Anyone looking for something solid and built like a tank should consider it.May 05, 2021
