Was in a small fender bender Monday morning where I bumped a car with my front bumper. The damage was minimal. The plastic where the headlight adjusters pass through was cracked-but the lights are good and my grill survived.Now there's a powertrain code indicated and the fan runs constantly. I think they are related. Thanks.
I have an 08 Ford Crown Vic P71. Instruments on dashboard go out for 1 sec to 2 secs then come back on. Sometimes it will go out for 10+ seconds before I tap the dashboard. They come back on. The radio, headlights, blower, etc. all continue to work. Problem located in instrument area only. It has been taken to two different car shops. One shop said no codes found. Didn't know what was causing it. It was going to cost more hours = $ to find the root of the problem. Second shop charged two hours labor and provided no answers. What is going on? will a 2008 grand marquis transmission work in a 2008 crown vic police interceptor?
I am trying to sell my 2008 police cruiser. Unfortunately I am running in to problems selling for reasons: A. The instrument cluster does not show mileage. I have confirmed with my mechanic that when plugged in the odometer reads the right value (99,400) B. People are interested in getting the idle time (because it is a police vehicle) For (a) can I get this information out via a smart plug connected to the OBD? Other ideas besides fixing the cluster? For (b) how can I get this info? Thanks!
