The 2006 Ford Crown Victoria remains largely unchanged from the 2005 model (which also means it remains largely unchanged from the last major revamping in 1979). The large sedan is a rear-wheel drive vehicle, a quality which sets it apart from its competitors, the Toyota Avalon and Nissan Maxima.
The 4.6-liter V8 sounds more intimidating than it is, and probably will not overwhelm too many people with its 224 horses (base model...sport models have up to 239).

The car looks great and I was tempted but I did a VIN check on the car and they had bought it from an auction. The auction people had made a note that it started and drove across the lot but the transmission might be slipping.Sep 04, 2020

One of the best cars for road trips. Very comfortable with lots of space. They are powerful and yet yield fair economy. They are not the image of young drivers; they are driven mostly by big cops or old guys.Jun 25, 2013

Great car. It has 4.6L v8 but still gets 18-20 city and 26-30 hwy! Comfortable, not
cramped. The build quality is amazing, especially since its a retired cop car that was
taken care of. Its got heavy duty everything. From shocks to front brakes, and
even upgraded engine parts and trans. The interior is very nice and simple. All
plastic dash so easy to clean and bonus is a vinyl back seat which is great since I
have dogs. This car is a blast to drive because of all the power and very nice to
cruise down the freeway. Nice and quiet.Sep 20, 2012

This is indeed the last of the Detroit Dinosaurs. In this case that is a very good thing. VERY comfortable ride, respectable power and 28 MPH. One of the best road trip cars ever made. I'm looking for another one right now only newer.Jun 29, 2011

Very solid, with no rattles, creaks or noise. Great ride.
Performance - Great on the highway, pretty fast.
Build Quality - Excellent.
Appearance - Now that I have compounded and waxed it, it's great.
Cost of Ownership - Buy a gas station. Other than that, super reliable.
Fun Factor - No words can describe it... : )Apr 08, 2010

Once GM stopped making the Caprice and RWD V8 Impalas in 1996, I had turned my attention to a few different cars in '06: a Chevrolet Malibu (Ford hadn't released the Fusion yet), a late 1990s Cadillac De Ville or either the Camero or Mustang; then later the Ford Crown Victoria once I'd seen some styles I'd liked (originally, I did not like the way the Crown Victoria looked). Ultimately, my need for trunk and interior to haul gear, a warranty, and low insurance premiums forced me to opt for the Crown Victoria rather than than a Malibu. Once I'd seen the beautiful instrument cluster on the Crown Victoria, and the $17k model with only 9,600 miles on it available in San Jose, I HAD to buy it on the spot.Jun 29, 2008
I have a 2006 crown Victoria that runs great but once it gets hot and say 30 minutes running time, it acts like it’s backfiring and gets no fuel change the spark plugs the coil fuel pump check the fuel regulator still having the same issue any help would be appreciated
I have an 06 Crown Vic. The axle seal blew. Was told that I may even have to replace the bearing and the tube. Followed both the Chiltons and the Haynes. But the issues are 1. They dont show Limited slip.(Car has S spring) (manuals dont show any S spring). 2. I did everything(I think) I need to do to beable to push in axle. (Remove the bolt and pin from diff, unbolted and removed abs, Removed brake calipers and disk.) 3. I push in the axle and it goes in but the C clip catches on the S spring thing not sure how to make it go in more. Is there something Im missing...
