The 2005 Impala was the last of its generation, and therefore saw few changes. Among these changes was that OnStar was now a standard feature on all trims, a popular enhancement among Impala drivers.
Engines remained the same: a 3.4-liter, 180 horsepower V6 for the standard sedan, a 3.8-liter, 200-horsepower V6 for the LS, and a 3.8-liter, 240horsepower V6 for the SS.
Drivers love the solid handling, rapid acceleration, and all-over peppy drive. Some have complained that the car does not approach is estimated 21 city/32 highway mileage (20/30 and 18/28 for the LS and SS), yet many seemed pleased with the efficient gas mileage accompanying the strong engine.
All trims now come standard with driver, passenger, and side airbags, creating a safe environment for the up to six passengers inside the car.

January 11, 2008This is a very spacious car that is great for families or anyone who needs extra space. Has excellent stereo sound and quality speakers. It is easy to maintain so I have had no complaints on this one at all.
November 26, 2012It's reliable and gets fairly good gas mileage. It also has a lot of leg room on the inside in both the front and back seats. It's just your basic sedan but it will get you where you need to go.
April 20, 2012A middle of the road car in about everything. Very comfortable, but very poor handling. It is just a mediocre Chevy sedan. Looks better with the larger sportier wheels, spoiler, and tinted windows. Being the base model, it just has an average V6.
March 21, 2012Purchased this vehicle as a company vehicle, it has proven to be great on the highway,amazingly good in slippery conditions and really good fuel economy. The V6 has really good pickup with great midrange torque for passing. After 100,000 miles the seats are holding up nicely and all the electronics wok well, very comfortable for long trips. Two thumbs up!
January 7, 2013I've always wanted this car and when i got it, i feel in love with it. The supercharged 3800 hauls balls in town and stills gets 20 mpg, also a lot of fun highway, an amazing car in my eyes. I also like the 17's on it, not too big, not too small.
July 25, 2008It's a pretty big car with a HUGE trunk! The only downside to having a big car is parking. But it's a great looking car, especially with the spoiler!
April 24, 2008Safe vehicle, with adequate highway / cruising power. Particularly well soundproofed. Build quality is strong, and beats the Toyota Camry for value, and lower maintenance costs than imports. It has been more dependable than my former Ford Taurus. Good all-round visibility, and electric seats easily adjust to different driver heights.
