After introducing the Escalade ESV Platinum Edition trim in 2004, Cadillac's full-size SUV still had its owners living large in 2005. Cadillac made some cosmetic changes to the model, including touch screen capability on the navigation system, refurbished instrument panels, and wood trim in the interior. Otherwise, not much changed for the widely-recognized status symbol.
The 2005 Cadillac Escalade ESV comes in two trims: ESV and ESV Platinum Edition. The difference? As you might guess, the Platinum Edition gives you extra luxury, including standard sunroof and navigation system. Expect to get 13 mpg in the city and 17 on the highway. Finally, you'll have the capacity tow around 7,600 lbs. on average between the 2 trims.
The pros and cons associated with the 2006 Cadillac Escalade ESV remain relatively consistent with other editions of the Escalade. On the positive side, drivers like the roomy interior, style, and power. On the negative side, drivers will find the Escalade ESV's thirst for gas rather expensive to quench. In addition, the SUV's bulky frame makes it tough to navigate narrow residential areas. Keep all that in mind and this highly-desired showpiece won't disappoint you.

Love everything about it! The way it looks, the roomyness, the sun roof, the safety and quietness, the reliability, the bose speakers and touchscreen stereo, the gps, the 6cd player, the tv, the heated seats and the air conditioning that cools off so quickly and blows like a hurricane if you want,...and more!Jul 22, 2014

It's hard to care about the gas mileage when it looks this good! If you need something to haul the family and all their stuff this is definitely the way to go. The only full sized SUV that I would trade this for would be a newer one!Apr 06, 2009

Its a boat it floats on gravel, never had any problems but it has to many kms. peral white is a great colour, fits lots of people, perfect for playing nintendo in the back seat. Very easy to stear and drives very very smoth and quiet on the inside. all roud good vehicle. Sep 08, 2008

2005 Cadillac Escalade ESV will not hold a charge
I have replace the battery, altanator and the starter. The battery still will not hold a charge. Once I get a jump it runs without issue, but once I park for the night and wake the next day the truck will not start, I hear click click click than nothing. Any ideas as to what I can do next.

Escalade Blues Oil Pressure Escaping!
2005 Escalade 6.0 LQ9 Engine Low Oil Pressure when warm and at idle (550 RPM) 170,000 miles and its been a battle for this guy..working under vehicle on jack stands... I believe I have covered everything that I can do before going into the bearings.... Low Pressure alarm at idle and warm. Drained sump, changed filter added heavier weight oil (10W40) and lucas. No good. Opened and inspected pan, some some metal and suction pipe strainer for oil pump some debris. Tried again no luck... Cleaned MAS sensor and throttle body to try get idle up (all I need is 50-100 rpm). At 1500 rpm got nearly 20 psi, engine follows rule of thump 10 psi per 1000 rpm. Drop pan again to change out oil pump, new Mellin pump higher volume M295 for high mileage cars. Added exact amount of oil and again no luck. Checked and swapped out send and have same readings... this engine I believe doesn't have filter under it. As I attempted a manual gage, line slipped off while running and I had an oil stream about 8 inches tall for a moment so I think the line is clear Engine has good power and no noise... (only once did I hear a tick tick tick upper engine for a few minutes which cleared up)... No oil leaking on engine... So now the questions arethe following. Could I get away with swapping main piston bearings while the engine is in place and not worrying about the front and rear mains? I am also NOT burning / consuming oil so that indicates to me my valves / guides are good... Love to hear your professional opinions! Really need to fix this so I can get some money for a trade in! I have a 2005 Escalade ESV the passenger cup holder is stuck on heat.Any clue which fuse it is ?I would assume the switch needs to be replaced. Just looking for a temporary solution.
