2004 Lexus ES Preview summaryImage

While it was still categorized as the fourth generation of the ES series, which began in 2002, the renamed ES 330 announced the arrival of a larger engine. Other new features included larger side airbags, additional power adjustments for the front passenger seat, and adjustable memory pedals. The optional navigation system was also improved. A new 3.3 liter V-6 engine could found under the recently redesigned hood, which now made 225 horsepower and provided 240 pound-feet of torque. Fuel efficiency was barely effected by the addition of a more potent engine, holding at 20/29 mpg. The ES's 0-60 time dropped less than half a second to 8.2, and the difference from the 300 at full throttle was marginal. While the ES 300 was a bit sluggish off the line, it was nicely propelled through the higher gears. The 330 offered a slight improvement at best. While drivers had most frequently labeled the prior ESs as comfortable and reliable above all, many were starting to recognize that the new model could also be marked by true luxury. The new ES featured several additional creature comforts and conveniences, which were much appreciated by owners. The navigation system, premium Mark Levinson stereo with an in-dash six disc changer, and abundant wood and leather were all appearing regularly on lists of favorite features. One common complaint was transmission hesitation during acceleration. The ES was still only available as an automatic.

Its a very nice car. Its exactly the same when it comes to maintenance as a 2002-2006 Camry V6. So it youre looking to buy a V6 Camry, then you might as well get the Lexus ES. I do not recommend buying the 2002-2006 4 Cylinder camry! They have the 2AZ-FE engine and they DRINK oil. You will put more oil than gas in that thing! I recommend a 2002-2006 Lexus es330 or 300.Feb 02, 2022

Lexus provides reliable transportation in a luxury vehicle. That is why I now own my third Lexus. This time I chose an RX350 SUV to accommodate my grandchildren otherwise I would still be driving this car. I am expecting the same satisfaction with this vehicle as I have experienced in the past. Wonderful!Apr 10, 2015
