2004 Chrysler Crossfire Reviews, Pricing & Specs

The 2004 Chrysler Crossfire is basically a Mercedes SLK320. Comfortable, quick and timeless style. This is not a racecar, more of a touring coupe. The steering takes a little getting use to due to the Hydraulic power-assist re-circulating ball steering which offers little feedback and will require the driver to due a bit of correcting. The coupe is aggressively styled and the power to weight ratio is decent but performance upgrades would be needed to chase down other small coupes or roadsters. The biggest issue would be the lack of cup holders.Mar 15, 2021

I loved this car and I hope to get another one in the future it’s fast and it handles like no car I’ve ever driven the one I had was an automatic but I recently test drove the stick shift one and that gave the car a completely different feel a different kind of power it’s a beautiful looking car sleek all around really rare you won’t see many on the streets and that kinda gives you a unique appearance the bass is that it’s for a small person and fortunately for me it fit me perfectly the seats are not that comfortable there’s no cup holder but it’s not that bad of a trade off and you can always make the best of it but if you’re tall this car is not for you Feb 19, 2021

Everyone who knows cars knows that Mercedes Benz is a fine vehicle. But they also know how expensive they are to own. The Crossfire is the next best thing to a Mercedes yet its a Chrysler. The look, the features, the quality, it all says quality. Yes, certain parts can be scarce due to the vehicle being out of production, but treated right, it can be a fine automobile for many years. For a variety of reasons, the automotive press pretty much dismissed the Crossfire because it wasn't what they wanted it to be, namely a Corvette. Well, it's not a Corvette. And the car is all the better for it. Handling is sublime. Firm and well controlled with exceptional compliance and chassis rigidity. Alot has been said about the cramped interior, but I am 6' 1" and find the cockpit very comfortable. This is not a Camry. This is a car you wear. And it fits me like a well tailored suit. storage space is actually very good, considering that this is a two-seat sports car. I use this car as my daily driver, and how much space a person needs to consider a car practical enough for them is relative. I used to commute by motor cycle, so this car is like a station wagon to me by comparison. My bullboxer pit fits in the back and loves the cozy feel and immediately falls asleep. Very special feeling driving this care. Can't explain it. Gotta drive it. Mine has been as reliable as an anvil. Maintenance is in line with other cars of this type. This is an enthusiasts car. Anyone that wants to be completely removed from the driving experience probably wont like this car. The aural and tactile sensations are pure sports car. Yes you can hear the engine (and man, does it sound sexy) yes you can feel the road beneath you. This is a driver's car for people that enjoy the act of DRIVING.Feb 15, 2013

Great car, awesome handling but not lacking in ride comfort. Solid engine/transmission. Interior build quality is a bit lacking but everything else is fantastic. Great choice on Mercedes part to base it off the first generation SLK as everything mechanically has been tried and tested. Acceleration is just about right but if I could go back I would have definitely opted for the SRT-6 although you cannot get a manual in that model. Gas mileage is way above the 25 highway ratings even at constant illegal highway speeds. Oil capacity is insane at 8.5quarts but expect it to come out clean after 10k miles because of this albeit at a $100 oil change (that's doing it myself, no labor cost). It's fast enough for me, but nothing too special. It's bone stock, but plans have been made and are being set in motion for modifications. It's a very stiff ride that provides feedback about the road and how the car is handling. Makes me feel very in tune while driving. But be careful about the potholes and bumps in the road, low pro tires are rather easy to pop. I know this from experience. It's rear wheel drive with summer tires on it so there will be no driving in the snow unfortunately. Jul 16, 2008

I have owned this car for 3 years, it was purchased with 1800 miles on it (now has 45k). The performance on the standard car is average. It's not heart stopping but it does the trick. Build quality is average, I'd have expected more from this car. Appearance is nice, reasonable layout on the dash, everything is visible and within reach. Costs. REQUIRES FULLY SYNTHETIC OIL. This baby will cost more than average for oil changes. Services arent cheap but a fair amount can be done by the owner. This car is fun to drive. Reasonably lively, lovely steering and handling. This car likes long windy roads to really show you what she is about. All in all I rate 7/10. Jul 01, 2008
