Nissan resurrected the Z car for the 2003 model year, in the form of the 350Z. The last Z on the market was discontinued in 1996. The new Z was a departure in styling, featuring a rounded, Porsche-like appearance.
The 2003 350Z came in five trims: the base model, the Enthusiast, the Touring, the Track, and the Performance. All shared a 3.5-liter V6 engine with 287 horsepower. Aside from wheel and tire size, the five models are all identical appearance-wise, with differences in amenities and performance. The Touring is the most luxurious option, and the Track is the most aggressive.
Z fans were understandably enthusiastic about the 2003 350Z. Those lucky enough to drive one cite the handling, acceleration, and looks as the car's strengths. Owners also say that for a car of this caliber, the price is quite reasonable. Many drivers wished for a turbo option, and there were complaints about the lack of cargo space, the quality of the sound system, and a bumpy ride.

20 years later this car still performs. Sure she is now outdated but not as much as the other sports cars of the same era. Even for today as a naturally aspirated v6 the VQ35DE still makes respectable power. With any older car there are some issues with age. Synchros in the transmission go out body panels and trim age and crack. All in all this vehicle still holds up.Jun 20, 2024

Only thing I did not like is that I had to use premium gas. Very reliable, the power and handling is great. Low maintenance cost. Little cargo capacity so do not plan on carrying a lot of stuff. Leather heated seats and good surround sound.Dec 17, 2012

Performance - More than enough for road use....
Build Quality - Not too shabby but the interior plastic could use a little upgrading
Appearance - Nice, porsche inspired lines, but still need aftermarket parts for
that bang
Cost of Ownership - Fuel consumption isn't too bad, but then again it's not a
Toyota Corolla
Fun Factor - For road use, yes it's fun. If you like speed, you will have to put

Test drove one when they first came out in 2002 at Performance Nissan in Duarte. They only had the one car with a 6 speed manual transmission and I had to go with the salesperson in the car. That did not deter me to give it a decent test of its performance - acceleration, handling, noise, braking, etc. This car was a great deal then and still is now. You get a lot of performance for not much dough. Acceleration is quite brisk when you stomp on it. It just squats and goes. The further you put your right foot down the more you get squished into the seat. I only got it up to about 90 on the 210 in about a one mile jaunt but that was plenty to give me an idea of what was in hand. Braking was awesome as was the handling. This is no Buick that the sad 280Z was. This is the real deal. Then there is the drop dead looks of the car. It is a joy to drive. The only drawback is that there is not much room in back. But that is the price you pay for the stiffness structure that takes up most of the room behind the seats. Mar 29, 2010

First car I bought with my own money when i was
only 19. This was the Track Model, the highest end,
most expensive Z on the market. Brembo Brake,
Rays Racing Wheels, Nismo LSD all in stock form.
This car hauled, specially when I put $800 worth of
BFG KDW tires on it. 13.4 in the 1/4 at Speedworld
in 90-100 degree heat with just tires then got 32

Love it!
Bought it in Germany, imported from the states, in 2005. Luckily i found it just how i wanted it Le Mans Sunset colour, Forged Ray Alloys, Brembo Brakes, Xenon lights and aero kit.
Grips like it's on tracks, acceleration is fantasic and it's one of the most beautiful cars out there by FAR.

I love this car. It handles great from the factory and has an engine which allows the driver to exploit these dynamics. The VQ35 has a wide power band which suits most driving styles. The engine revs cleanly and has a very flat torque curve. The brembo brakes are super strong & for most applications are fade free.
The interior of the car does not quite match the looks. There are a few squeaks & rattles and the material on the kick panels marks easily. The switches for the seat heaters are poorly positioned but this was corrected in the update model.Mar 14, 2008

The doggies! Everything about this car is great. Everything is so responsive and sporty. Very easy to get sideways which can be great fun.
