What owners say
"Drivers generally appreciate the 2003 Dodge RAM 2500 for its power and towing capabilities, particularly favoring the Hemi and Cummins engines. Many love the overall performance and feel of the truck, calling it a solid choice for towing and off-roading. However, some reviewers have noted downsides, such as a stiff ride, issues with the dashboard quality, and concerns about fuel economy."
It has 120,000 miles and still going strong. It has always been good in the snow. It has hauled everything that i have put behind it. The only problem is the sun viser fell off. I do wish it was worth a little more now. I also need to get a few dents taken out
July 16, 2008Love this truck. Purchased this for towing a 24 RV. The 5.9 diesel get around 15mpg in the city and 25 on the highway. Towing is 15-18 mpg. Handles good, does ride like a truck and the quad cab + an 8 bed do make it difficult to park. Close to 22 in length you do have to drive it a bit differently. The dash is crap and will need to be replaced as they are made very weak. Comfortable to drive on trips, lots of get up and go when merging or passing. Electrical gremlins in the windows and a couple of other issues with wiring problems. Just change the oil every 10 and the fuel filter every 15 and you will have a 500,000 mile vehicle easily.
June 14, 2023love it, only bad thing about it is the amount of gas it uses..but who cares :D, its fast, big, sexy, it intimidates other cars in traffic. does great on and off road, it definetaly turns head when you are driving it.

May 13, 2009The Cummins motor is the best diesel in the industry. My only complaint is the factory auto transmission, or the 48RE. If you plan on modding your Cummins, then atleast a torque converter and valve body are a must. These motors are capable of over 1000 hp with basic modifications.
July 28, 2008Good solid truck, love the Hemi motor, and sits at a good height. Rides a little stiff, and try to keep the sun off the dashboard as much as possible. The dashboard can crack severally over time. Great truck for the price.
February 11, 2021the only downside to this truck is that I have the 47RE transmission, and the 25 HP standard output motor. Cummins of course. 141k miles so far
April 11, 2008The truck is very nice to tow with. Lots of power and the 6 speed stick is very effective in towing and the 4 wheel drive is a must for snow. Lots of fun to play around with too. Could be higher yet with bigger tires.
October 14, 2009Overall it's been a very good and reliable truck. I would buy another one, but would not be opposed to looking at other options either. Very little maintenance costs involved in the 7 years that I have owned it. I have an upgraded exhaust system which gives it an extra growl, but actually decreased the mpg. I was hoping for the opposite.
June 22, 2012Everything about this truck is excellent the power towing looks, the only repair I made is rear pinion seal but the truck has 99000 miles on it. Gas is hight coast about 100 buck to fill it. It does excellent off road it has 33x12.50r18 on it with a 2inch lift.
October 11, 20112003 Dodge Ram 2500 with 5.9 Cummins Turbo Diesel. 17in. MKW rims with 35in. Pro Comp tires. 4in. straight pipe. K&N intake with Diablo power puck. Nothin compared to a smartty tho. Wouldn't trade it for any other truck.
