Timing system replacement
Timing system was replaced at 100,020 miles (2015). Now shop says we need it done again at 132,851 miles (2024). We haven't driven much since covid so why? Seems too soon..

The Volkwagen EuroVans that appeared in showrooms in 2002 were essentially the same models that had been sold the previous year, with the same 201-horsepower, 2.8-liter V6 engine, and a four-speed automatic transmission, which was standard. About the only real changes were a few new exterior colors, a new stability control system, and an upgraded basic warranty (to four years/50,000 miles).
Two versions were available. The EuroVan GLS came with air conditioning, power windows, power heated mirrors, automatic climate control, cruise control, anti-lock brakes, and an anti-theft alarm system.
The MV added a rear bench that converted into a bed and rearward-facing bucket seats in the middle row. The MV could also be outfitted to resemble the old Campmobile, with a refrigerator, bed, and pop-up roof.
The EuroVan's higher driving position, functional options, roominess, handling, and power upgrade all received positive comments from drivers. However, some noted that their EuroVans tended to spend a lot of time in the shop, resulting in expensive repairs.

Is this an immobilizer issue? If you click the remote key lock and unlock a few times it will start. It happens usually when cold, but also has happened on a trip to a store. Perhaps not getting the key message correctly each time? Sometimes if you stomp on the accelerator as your crank will get it going. Throttle body? The speedometer stopped working this summer intermittently, but has since worked fine. I guess the immobilizer is in the instrument panel. I can't rely on it, sometimes I can get it started after a few tries or after letting it sit an hour or so. But other times its down for a week or more. Dealer can't replicate the problem, of course. It starts fine for them. My mechanic thinks its the immobilizer or the throttle body, really a dealer issue I guess. What's the deal?
Everyone, Our 2002 Eurovan Camper won't start - here are the symptoms: Battery shows over 14v, so no lack of charge issues Radio turns on when you turn the ignition, cuts out when you remove the key from the ignition, just like normal Headlights are on all the time - even when key is removed, headlight switch is off, AND even when a battery cut-off I have installed for long-term storage is disconnected. EPC and Transmission Check lights are on, and the car beeps when you open the door, as if the key is in the ignition but it's not. Any thoughts?
My 2002 VW rialto when ignition switch is turned on to start engine it wont engage. In the past some times would have to try 3 or 4 times before starter would turn over to start it. Could it be an ignition switch problem or something else?
Heater/AC control panel flashes for 5 to 10 seconds upon ignition , AC starts with cold air then gets warmer especially in town traffic. Any ideas as to what this is... how can I repair this issue.
