The 2002 Impala continued to impress its drivers with a strong engine, good mileage, and comfortable ride for five adults.
The base engine remained a 3.4-liter, 180-horsepower V6, while the standard for the LS stayed a 3.8-liter, 200-horsepower V6. The standard engine gets 21/32 city/highway, while the LS pays a small cost for its larger engine, with 19/29 mileage.
The safety for both trims is excellent, with the LS slightly better with standard side airbags.

The car is easy to handle, is a champion when it comes driving on any road surface and in all kinds of. The gas mileage is good for the size of the car. Maintainance has been low. It is a well built car and very dependable.Apr 22, 2014

How big and long it is. It's a big body style car in which I prefer a sportier car. This was my first car which I really enjoyed it. It was my grandfathers travel car. So it has quite a bit of miles on it, however I put 30,000 miles on it and never had a single problem occur.Jan 22, 2013

Good daily driver, handles well and has a lot of power. It is reliable and
inexpensive to maintain. Good for interstate and back road driving, as well
as driving in inclement wether. I would recommend this car to any one
that needs a practical reliable vehicle. The low coast of maintenance

There is nothing that I do not like about this car. I would definitely recommend this car to others. It looks very sleek, extremely smooth ride. For a car this size and weigh, it is very easy on the gas mileage.Feb 17, 2012

the car is great. gets good gas mileage and isn't under powered. It is a great first car and has been very reliable and cheap to maintain. It does the car some good to get it on a long hghway trip once in awhile to get everything cleaned out/Sep 26, 2010

The 3800 V6 puts out a lot of power, too bad the suspension doesn't do it any good. Breaks are good, Seats are not that comfortable, lots of room inside though, easily seats 5, and the trunk is ginormous. Paint is good, and build quality is pretty decent. Sep 22, 2009

This is a great car that i would recommend to anyone. The performance is ideal for anyone with a need for speed, and a lack of cash. It looks great and it is built very well. Its 3.8L V6 runs exceptionally smooth, and even has a good sound (at higher revs) and it has the most important quality i look for in a car, it's a blast to drive!Jul 19, 2009

Chevy impala...pretty, has balls, and is a tough work horse. The LS packs a 3.8L L36 V6 engine that pumps out 200hp. It also comes with nice options like a rear wing SS inspired five spoke rims and a pair of fog lights, and a whole some more cool options.And hey if NYC Police use it can't be bad right?May 07, 2009

Acceleration is great! Braking and handling are good for how big the car is. No squeaks or rattles, its a very solid car. Has need a few basic repairs, nothing big. I like that it is the most fuel efficient police car out there.Jan 23, 2009

I love it! Little luxury, little sporty, a lot of fun! Takes off fast too :) Handles sick! Brakes are excellant is summer, good in the winter. Fun to drive around in! Appearance is beautiful, pretty good gas mileage. Definately perfect for me!Dec 17, 2008

-performance: for an older large family vehicle it is pretty good.
-build quailty: hasnt broken down yet so i guess it's okay
-appearcance: beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but i'd day it's not that good looking.
-cost: VERY EASY maintenance, gas mileage is about 25-30mpg
-fun to drive?: anything is fun to drive

Although I've had to replace a couple of different
parts it is fairly reliable. I've driven it to OK and
Ames with no problems. Never broke down for me.
Large and comfortable. Not a granny car like most
ppl say. Although I'd get one for my grandma if

I had the LS with practically everything- heated leather seats, power everything, sunroof, amplified sound system, rds radio, spoiler, alloy wheels, fog lights; it was so luxurious. The car was so large, however, that cornering was not so good and I caught the rear on a pole taking a corner one night... that was the last time we drove together.Apr 20, 2008

Cigarette, in windshield vent. Is this a potential fire risk?

Is there a known repair for the security light/passlock problem that causes Impala and other GM products not to start for 10 to 30 minutes? If it's replacing the BCM at $500 that's fine, I just want to know that it will work. Thanks.
