Driver side windows will not roll down or up. What's wrong?
Front and back windows on the drivers side are not working, passenger side windows work fine. What is the possible problem, what part needs replacement.

The Galant remains largely unchanged for the 2001 model year. The sedan now meets Low Emission Vehicle standards and Mitsubishi's LATCH child safety restraint system has been added to all models. The optional Cold Weather Package now includes traction control and heated mirrors.
The same model lineup returns this year. Buyers may choose between the base DE, the more equipped ES, the V6-powered ES, the upscale LS or the sporty GTZ. Base level features include air conditioning, an interior air filter, cup holders, power windows and door locks, remote mirrors, a CD player and digital clock. The DE and ES are powered by a four-cylinder engine, while all other models get a V-6.
Mitsubishi's 2.4 liter four cylinder engine produces 145 horsepower and 155 pound-feet of torque. The 3.0 liter V-6 generates 195 horsepower and 205 pound-feet of torque. Fuel economy Fuel economy is estimated at 21/28 mpg with the four, and 20/27 mpg with the V-6. A four-speed automatic is the only transmission option.
The Galant may not be as popular as some of its Japanese competitors, but most reviewers contend that this sedan offers an exceptional value. The Galant's strengths include distinct styling, an inviting interior and overall road manners. Common consumer and reviewer issues include exterior noise intrusion, tight rear quarters and the lack of a manual transmission option.

I put 249k on the 2000 4cyl. I had new back in 2000 my dad recently gave me his 2001 Es V6 with 50.600 mi. Its 2024 the car drives. Excellent ihe only drove it 14 miles per day. . Wow it has just been broken into when I went to Vegas over 700 miles without any issues. Im giving it to my grand-daugter as her first car. After I get it painted. I know it will last her probably a good 150k maybe more with out any issues. My dad kept the car immaculate. It almost still smells new lol.. I put a kenwood deck in with 2 10 inch Rockford fosgate subs like I did 20 years ago. Sounds excellent . Took my back to my college days. Yes I highly recommend this vehicle for every student- Dec 24, 2024

I liked everything. Runs good, starts with in first three turn overs. Has amazing handling. Has good brakes. Emergency brake actually locks up. Its an amazing car over all. I would highly recommend it to someone I know. When the motor goes, I'm gonna get it rebuilt.Nov 13, 2013

This would be a great car for someone just starting to drive all the way to someone with children. It drives and handles great no braking problems and it doesn't cost a lot for routine maintenance. It's not a big body car so it's easily maneuverable.May 11, 2013

There is nothing about this car I dont like.its got everything I could ask for. Its fun, reliable, sexy, fast, roomy as all heck,& easy to work on. Big tires so hopefully good in the snow but not sure yet. All I know is I plan to keep this car on the road as long as possible. Already has 178,000 miles & you wouldn't even know it.Oct 22, 2012

This is probably the best looking car around within a resonable price range, for
both buying and insurance. The quality is pretty simple to explain, its a Japanese
car, done. lol even after having this for nearly 2 years its still fun to drive

I wish the 4 cylinder model had a little bit more power but really can't complain does better with gas then my last one, I think it was kind of stupid that they ran two drain lines from the sun roof into the trunk behind the wheel wells.Sep 26, 2011

For me, i bought the car with alot of problems. But over the course of a year I've somewhat pulled out a few more horses and torque. the only real problems I have with the car is the turning radious and after 95 the VR4 never came to America. Its okay on gas. It can accelerate when it needs to. Wasn't a bad looking car.The car gave me a lot of trouble though. MAFS, MAPS, Engine Mounts, Blown Head Gasket, bad EGR valve, Misfiring cylinder. That added up. Car was fun to drive when it worked. Was frustrating to drive when it didn't.Apr 29, 2010

The car accelerates nicely and has great hwy mileage, drove about 130miles and
only used 1/4 tank of gas, my first car took 1/2 tank to do the same trip. City
mileage is alright, could be better. I really do love this car though, I have had it for

I love this car so much... it takes of like a thunder Cat.. Great for whatever, whenever & whoever.. my friends also love my Car its part of the Family. The color is just Right, The style is never old.. not even the new Galants can put on...
The acceleration is great could be better. brakes are strong, not a jerk. Handling I love it, not to soft, not to hard. Squeaks never, Rattles nope. Appearance on the out is ok, well I like it.. it does need a buff... inside needs new carpet.. Gas? holy cow talk about gas.. whats that It great on Gas. Maintenance is ok could be better. Slow, but for some reason fun car. Probably just a first car attachment i have. I swapped out the transmission to 5 speed manual. Much more fun now. Short shifter among other small bolt ons make it bearable to drive.Sep 28, 2009

En driftsäker bil, inte haft något bekymmer under 3,5 år som jag haft bilen. Bara varit på vanlig service och inga anmärkningar på bilprovning. Hygglit rolig bil att köra för en stor familjekombi och enligt mitt tycke så ser modellen ganska sportig ut. Om man köper en begagnad Galant nu så tror jag nog också att man får mycket bil för pengarna. Modellen har några år på nacken så de står nog lågt i kurs begagnat.Sep 07, 2009

Handles, brakes and accelerates like a dream, little sluggish from start but not bad for a 2.4 4 banger.
Spoiler wasnt attached completley and makes some annoying rattling sound at high speeds

Love it. It is slightly moded. The Basics-Cold air intnake, exhaust-lowered with Teins Springs-Navigation System-and Me in it. So overall it is has been a good car to me and hopefully soon I can buy the car I really want. An Evo 2006 edition. yes sir. But my Galant would be just fine the way it is.Oct 03, 2008

I bought this car in June 2008, It had done 98,000 miles. I have driven 3,000 miles around Europe in it since and NOT encountered a single problem!!! It is an excellent motorway cruiser and very reliable!
This car is Comfortable, smooth and to relaxing drive.
Not yet needed any repairs done, no signs either, Performance is great, Build quality Excellent.
The cost of running it would be good if we didn't have such extortionate fuel rates In this country!! It's a 2L so petrol isn't that great when nipping around city centers. Great on the the motorway and long journey's cruising in 5th.
Not bad to look at and has bags of room inside/hugh boot.

I now have had the car almost a year. I love the power I have, I got the V6 model, and it is strong enough to take a good beating from me. I didn't like the radio that come with it, the speakers can do a lot more then the radio will let it. May 06, 2008

I have a 01 Mitsubishi Galant 2.4. I bought a JVC radio receiver (Bluetooth/aux) I’m installing a sub/amp in my car. I have the stereo put in, have the wire harness and everything all hooked up. I placed the stereo into the dash and it will not turn on. Does the Mitsubishi stereo code have something to do with that? And or how do I bypass the code? Engine keeps stalling at stop signs and red lights.
