For 2001, GMC tweaked and lightened the strongest V8 in its Yukon lineup to bump the horsepower up to 320. Otherwise, the full-size SUV didn't change too much from 2000. The Yukon comes in 5 trims: SLE, SLE 4WD, SLT, SLT 4WD, and Denali 4WD.
The 2001 Yukon gives you 2 V8 engines: a 4.8 L, 275 hp and 6.0 L, 320 hp. Gas mileage comes out to 15 mpg in the city and 20 on the highway. This SUV has 4 doors, seats 6 or 8, and can tow up to a max of nearly 8000 lbs. to 8700 lbs., depending on the trim. Need cargo room? The Yukon has plenty with 105 cubic feet with the second row down and third row removed.
Overall, drivers have come to like the two trademark features of the Yukon: capable V8 lineup and roomy interior although materials could use an upgrade. Regardless, the 2001 Yukon presents a solid and relatively inexpensive SUV that didn't change too much up until 2007.

The GMC Yukon SLT has a very comfortable and quite ride. Great on the sand. Tows smooth and steady. Great family vehicle with removable 3rd row which allows for amazing cargo capacity when needed.. Feels like you are riding on the clouds.May 19, 2014

reliable..cheap to fix,when it needs fixing,usually small things like window motorr,reliable 4WD,quiet on the highway and sits high so you feel safe and can see all traffic.i have to say 8 more words so that should do it LOLNov 25, 2009

Great family rig, it does consume gas at a high speed. Very durable, can tow most trailers. We have installed a chip which has up'd the gas mileage. Overall it has been my favorite car I have owned. I give it a thumbs up. Oct 07, 2009

Performance is coming, I am upgrading only got flowmaster and K and N so far. Great style, durable so far. I get 18 mpg on highway and 12 in the city. Average is 15mpg. No major squeaks. It is very fun, very smooth suspension, could be a little tighter for the way i drive it. Oct 10, 2008

Does anyone know any good tips on how to fix l99-06 yukon cylinder 7 misfiring
Ok i got cylinder #7 misfiring. She has 334,000 miles and is still running good but I hate when it starts misfiring. Anybody with any good tips for the yukon even if they have nothing to do with misfiring. I want to hear from ya cause I'll probably be getting spark plugs, wires and a couple coils soon

Need some input on my 2001 GMC YUKON Changed MAF sensor, spark plugs , spark wires, fuel filter, alternator. I believe thats its it still wont stay running starts idles wierd then dies. I had the fuel pump tested and mechanic said it was good. What do you think the problem is?

Why won't my truck go in reverse?
My Brother passed away recently and left me his truck because it meant a lot to him and I but I haven't been in in in over 6 months and I picked it up the other day and all of the fluids looked great and it fired right up but will not go in reverse. Also I never actually k ew this but the truck is AWD, I honestly didn't even know that but when I got home to raise it up and check the undercarriage I noticed the 2 differentials and my stomach started to turn because I started to think that maybe this project is out of my budget and won't be able to do anything with it. I'm sorry to ramble I guess my question is, why won't it go in reverse?
