The 2001 Ford Expedition continued to attract buyers looking for size, power, and comfort. Distinguishing itself from other full-size SUVs in the market for its relative agility, its luxury-car styling, and its focus on safety, the 2001 Expedition sold faster than Ford could send them off the line.
With 110 cubic feet of cargo volume and 8,000 pounds of towing power, the Expedition had the rugged strength to be a workhorse; most of its sales, though, were as family transportation. The 2001 Ford Expedition was offered in two trim lines, XLT and Eddie Bauer. Both were available with four-wheel drive, although it's hard to imagine a 17-foot Expedition going off-road.
Inside the cabin, comfort was king. Seats were designed ergonomically, and options like captain's-chair front seats (standard on the Eddie Bauer models) and second-row bucket seats made for a relaxing ride. Separate heating and cooling for front and rear added to the feeling of being pampered. A rear entertainment system was available as an option for parents who wanted the relaxation of knowing that their kids were safely absorbed in a DVD.
Ford also provided the 2001 Expedition with some innovative safety features as standards and options. The Reverse Sensing System is a radar-based warning that alerts drivers when they're in danger of backing into something; 4WD models come equipped with Control Trac, which enables drivers to switch between automatic, high, and low drive levels; and big mirrors with heat and indicator options give drivers better ability to see around the Expedition's 17-foot body.

I love the space, the handle, and comfort. Great vehicle for the price. Can comfortably carry a family and cargo. Has a pull out cargo space installed in the trunk as well. Interior is very easy to clean as well.
September 27, 2013Good truck. Nice power, towing capacity, and room. Will fit 7 people comfortably. The 4x4 gives it off road ability and goes through snow without a problem. It is cheap to repair and the overall cost of operation is good, besides gas consumption.
August 27, 2013the vehicle has decent power and can pull most anything withoug strugle, the build quality is exceptional, i put it through hell and it keeps on tickin. the styling is average, seems a little flimsy on the interior, my favorite part is the alloy wheels. the maintnece of the vehicle is fairly low due to quality build but the gas gets pricy. As for being fun to drive this is not the best car for that it is scary to try and follow my friends sport cars lol.

August 12, 2010Never stuck for power, space, or in the snow. Easy to find aftermarket fun. We commonly carry 5-7 people with there "stuff" to anything from soccer to the beach. My whole family is tall and no one fights for space even when we carrie 7 or 8 people. I have never gotten stuck in the snow. The 4 wheel drive system is great though there is the little problem of the front drive train letting go. It looks great and is easy to maintain. With that said it is great fun to upgrade.
January 3, 2010Eddie Bauer makes it fairly luxurious, only one major gap on right side of dash. Nice sound system with sub. 4.7 V8 has about 300 ft/lb torque and only about 200 hp which makes it kind of slow but when you usually drive a car with only 95 hp it seems very impressive. You still get pushed back in you seat if you punch it. B/c 2wd ride is very smooth. Bucket seats in middle are very nice. Bottom line is not a bad suv but are others that are better(toyota sequoia, landcruiser, saturn outlook, honda pilot, mb gl). But for the low price it is worth it.
April 6, 2008Great truck for long road trips with plenty of space. Ride is not the most comfortable but beats the ride my old suburban had. Hauling capacity is awesome for an SUV of this size and best of all parts are cheap.
January 7, 2014Great Family SUV not bad on gas surprisingly very comfortable ride smooth good pick up very cheap price for a used model and will last to well over 300 thousand miles keep it up on maintenance and it will treat you good
April 8, 2010Plenty of room even though I am 6'5". I just bought it so I am hoping that it will have no mechanical issues. I took it to a mechanic prior to the sale and he said it is a great vehicle. So I am loving it right now.

May 9, 2007I Love my expedition, the ride is awsome, for a heavy truck it flyes,nothing like riding high, there is 1 thing i don't like, The gas mileage, thats what happens when you drive a real truck,5.4 liter triton
