These cars are so easy to work on and plenty of parts are available. From brakes and rotors to oil and transmission fluid changes, if you have a garage it can be done. Just a really nice all around car that gets great gas mileage and is very smooth and quiet on the road. Even for an older sedan you can't go wrong,Aug 21, 2014

The car looked as great as the ad, drove better than we thought and was in great shape. We looked at several other vehicles and settled on the one we went looking for. Great body style, performance and handling. My wife was already happy with her previous E320 and was equally happy we bought the second one. I feel very safe with her driving it and with carrying our kids. I feel safe knowing she is in a safe, reliable vehicle and she looks great in the car. Very stylish.

Looks great on the road. Shines above most other cars for her age. Good solid stable ride always in comfort. Also have a BMW which I love but have to say the Mercedes is a much smoother ride. Great car to own.Apr 18, 2014

Posh vehicle - feels and handles great. The only exciting vehicle I've ever owned - all others were downright dowdy.
It is a hand-built engine, smooth and powerful, with incredible kick.
The ride is comfortable, at least on smooth highway for which this vehicle is really designed.
However, all these things come at a price - $300 oil changes, $1300 brake jobs, $1600 muffler replacements (thanks God for ebay on this one), the list goes on.
the trip computer LIES - it shows the average usage of 11.3L/100 km (20.8 MPG) - but I can only get 500 km out of 80L tank, and I drive like a grandma. That's more like 16L/100 km (14.7 MPG).
and we are talking premium fuel.
Also, this vehicle is really meant to cruise high quality freeways. Try it on the little side -road we live by and you will feel as if the suspension were about to give out ghost.
After this costly fun, I am looking to buy Passat diesel, ha ha ha.Apr 09, 2013

I am really pleased about the performance of the vehicle however the body style isn't my favorite. The headlights has a dull condensation that prohibits the illuminating of lights and it's hard to get cleared. Some places can clean them for about $100.Mar 06, 2013

This was my father's car. It was the car I learned to drive in, drove to prom both years, and borrowed for a few months while my Jeep was in the shop. It was a great car with a very comfortable, beautiful interior with lots of tasteful little amber lights. The exterior had a classic, elegant look that still impresses. Got surprisingly good gas mileage (better than the Lexus ES I drive now or the G37x my mother drives). Never had any problems with the car and my father still drives it to work everyday at 12 years old.Jan 20, 2012

The cost of two yearly maintences is $1700 at the dealer. Always gareged. An exceptional 11 year old car. Still looks and runs great.
The cost of ownership is high at the dealer, so I found a registeredd mechanic here in town for about $400 a year.Jan 12, 2011

4 MATIC (AWD) model. Helped my sister find one for safety on roads during the winter. I had driven it a few times in the snow, even during a snow storm. Was passing everyone going 40-50 mph while others were crawling at 20 mph. This is truly a remarkable machine.Jul 22, 2010

Great driving car.....31 mpg....0-60 in 5.1 sec. ...lacks the comfort on long drives. Expensive to repair but the safety aspect of the car is outstandng. Driving at high speeds is much safer than in all other cars, inclucing a BMW I used to own. When new, features of this car were and still is ahead of American cars. Quality of materials is superior to American cars....i.e. windshield fends off cracks where American cars are more prone to chip and etch.Dec 28, 2009

Rust problems and paint chip issues beyond belief. I have owned 3 prior MBs and all together not near the issues as this car. Light bulb failures as well as other electrical issues. Local dealer in Erie PA says "we'll trade you out"....now mind you the car only had 40k at 6 years old. Nothing but bad all over the internet regarding the rust issues.Sep 29, 2009

Benz's Car has the quality it is supposed to be. I had owned the car for almost 7 years; there wasn't any major problem with this car. I am fully satisfied with the quality. Even though I enjoy comfortable things more than when I was 20, I still appreciate a car that responds well to proper (sometimes happily radical) inputs. The sport suspension works well with the proper tires, and the brakes are amazing! Driving cross country is a breeze, as the cruise control works at 140 plus.. Gas mileage was a surprise. 17 to 18 in town and 27 at 75 on the highway. (Same as my wife's Subaru Forester)
The 4Matic engages a bit harshly in the snow, but works. Some of the controls are a challenge even with the manual.May 01, 2008

Burning Oil
I've been driving this car for almost ten years and am having a hard time giving it up! It's burning oil, so in between oil changes, I will add a quart or two of synthetic oil. I'm really considering keeping the car, I've test driven the new Mercedes and don't like the drive as much. They feel too light, I think they've moved to a cheaper aluminum for the body and have moved away from using so much steel. In any case, Is it worth the money to have this repaired and drive it until the end? Currently 137K miles. Thank you!!
