The 2000 RL continued to ride on the improved sales the 1999 facelift brought. Acura's top-of-the-line sedan featured the same suspension and engine, a 3.5-liter V6 rated at 210 horsepower and 224 lb-ft of torque. The car requires premium fuel and gets 18 city/24 highway miles per gallon.
The interior received some improvements for 2000, including new wood grain trim. The 2000 RL comes standard with soft leather seats, and the normal luxury goodies: power windows and locks.
Drivers of the 2000 RL love the car's reliability, styling, steering, shifting, and cornering. They are less crazy about the premium fuel requirement. Most feel like they got a bargain in their car: Lexus luxury at a much lower price.

I really enjoyed this car. Probably the best all around luxury sedan in the market but it's not practical for a big family or long road trips. The fuel economy will really hurt if you have a long commute but the comfortable ride, awesome sound system and powerful engine makes up for it.Apr 30, 2014

most is positive and few so so.18-20 mpg is a little bit more but is ok.Heated seats,mirrors, climate for a comfortable trip.maybe a CD inside should be better.Also power seats,power windows,power mirror is a plus.Don't forget a xenon front bulbs and fogg lamps.Nov 24, 2013

Smooth ride, comfort, heated seats, reliability. Great family car, looks good, rides better. Minimal maintenance required. Oil changed regularly and tires always rotated as well. Maintained by Leland and Angie Prewitt on Chatham Parkway. Brakes, tires, radiator, battery, timing belt all done over the past 12-18 months. Records in glove box.Feb 06, 2012

The tail lights on my accura won't turn on. I've replaced the bulbs, checked the wiring and fuses, and nothing! Any suggestions?

2000 Acura RL headlight issues
I replaced both headlights just over a year ago. Right front headlight was giving me issues so I replaced it with a replacement under warranty. Now the left is doing the same thing... it goes out, and generally comes back on when I turn the lights off and back on again.now both headlights, when on low beam, go out. Turn the switch of and back on, they come on again. Would that be a headlight switch issue (in steering column) or a ballast for head lights issue?

Cooling fan only comes on with heater or a/c on.
My 2000 Acura RL normally runs beautifully. Recently, it has been overheating. The cooling fan does not come on by itself. Only with the heater on at full blast or with the a/c on. I was told to use the heater only, not the a/c. But as soon as you turn the heater off, the cooling fan goes off. What causes this? I've changed temp. sensor and something else, can't remember. Any other suggestions?
