Should I use a flat bed or a tow dolly to tow my bmw 528i
My head gaskets are cracked and my oil and coolant are mixed i need a tow but dont know the best way my car is a standard vehicle

It needs to be kept in garage to protect shoddy materials of interiors for year 2000 models. This car handles and rides like a medium sports car. Plenty of power and very efficient on gas. Six cylinder wants premium gasoline. Mar 02, 2014

This car has it all, power (automatic transmission with BMW's Steptronic and S-
Sport mode), excellent handling, good family car where 3 people can fit in the
back, giving drivers a lot of fun with the power features for Sport mode and
manual transmission with internal clutch days.
Not only was this car used for sport/fun, it was also used for commuting to work

The acceleration is brisk but not flat out fast, quite fun in the corners and has great braking, The build quality is quite nice with very well done fit and finish which is expected of a BMW. The appearance of the car is impressive looking with beautifully styled lines while also maintaining an air of subtlety. The cost of ownership however is the real kicker as this is an import with a v8 it tends to be a little thirsty on the gas and the repair bills can be a bit astronomical. This is a very good family car and all rounder apart from short commute journeys it is not the car for you. It also soes not cope well in the snow as i got stuck on a slight incline with a full tank and all other cars passed me... SAD TIMESDec 28, 2011

It is a very good car, but if you buy it then be sure to buy it with a CD changer a
HID face left head lights, parking sensor, heated seats, automatic, alloy weals 16"
or more, and with trip computer.

the car handles great on dry land, but once the suface gets wet or icy your in trouble. in snow, also the cup holders suck, doesnt hold a drink when they work but they mostly break off anyway. other then that its greatFeb 16, 2011

This is my 2000 BMW 540i Touring, aka M5 WGN. It is extensively customized as
if BMW had produced an M5 wagon for the E39 model (they only made the
sedan). It was customized by Dinan Motors in CA: supercharger, suspension, ss
exhaust, strut brace. It was then trimmed out as an M5: M5 brakes, wheels,
mirrors, steering wheel, interior & exterior trim (including replacing the stock
headliner with black felt to mimic the Alcantara leather in the sedan). It's been
dyno tested and pulled 400hp. This wagon is fast, luxurious and a proud

performance-0-100 in under 20 seconds, good braking, tight handling, a little tail-happy, but suprisingly controllable. build qaulity- excellent, german made door trim is the only thing starting to fall apart in this 10 year old car. appearance - gorgeous car even though its 10 years old it is one of the better looking cars on the road. cost of ownership - great gas mileage 28 highway, 23 city (ish) when cruising the mpg meter is capable of staying above 40. pretty good for a family car. Its great fun to drive, especially

All the great stuff you've heard about the E39 5-series is true. If you need a full-size sport sedan, this is it. If you want a more flexibility and space, get the Sport Wagon. The 2.8L inline-6 is surprisingly quick, and consistently returned 21 mpg or better - I'm confident it will last forever. Poise, ride and handling, are incredible. The interior isn't quite as nice as my Audi A6, but the exterior is arguably better-looking. Reliability has been good for a German car, but when it's time to replace stuff, parts are German car pricey (as expected).Jan 26, 2009

This would have to be one of my favorite cars. Big body with a powerful V8 and 6 spd. This car had more power than most cars on the road and it was a 4 door. Not as powerful as an M5 but enough. Jan 20, 2009

Great torque, a bit on the heavy side compared to the
3 series before, but lowering the car and changing the
computer management system along with the exhaust
system helped a lot. Great quality could use a new
interior as the years are starting to show. An IPOD

Solid construction for body and chassis but engine built with parts that fail sooner than they should in a German car. I enjoyed the plush seats and the auto-sensing wipers. 0 to 60 in well under 6 seconds. Not a car for those who don't have big pockets for repairs and a backup car.Sep 05, 2008

I always prefered my Merc over BMW. But BMW has its own beauty. She is rough and wild. U can handle her anyway your mood tells you too. Runs like a horse. Pick up amazing. Acceleration lasts for long so u can maintain your speed without braking much. I love the looks of the latest models. Again m in love with their eyes...hhehehe... mean the headlights. I use to think that BMWs were overrated until I actually drove one. BMW is truly a driver’s car. Drive one if you want to understand the term “fits like a glove”. I have been very impressed with this car, but it has had some issues. The cup holders are the worst. Not many cars can go 0 to 60 in under 6 seconds and still fits two large car seats in its back seat. So it is a very fast sports car while also being very safe family car at the same time.
If its V8 engine did not burn so much gas, I would drive it more often. Feb 27, 2008

I purchased this car when I was a Junior in high school. In the 5 years that I have owned this car I have roughly put 50k on the odometer for a total of 71816 miles. For every mile I have driven this car it has been reliable, comfortable, and has gotten me through tricky situations on several occasions with me and the car unscathed. I was rear ended about 2 years ago by a VW Jetta and to my surprise my car was relatively undamaged. Besides having the bumper replaced there was no other major damage. I recently had the transmission flushed and despite the reliability issues of the automatic transmissions that were in early model E39's mine has been perfectly fine. My one complaint about this car would have to be the factory stereo. I am a big fan of loud music and I was disappointed with the sound as a lot of owners are with mid 90's and early model E39's. This didn't really matter too much because since I planned on doing a lot of neat things with this car from the beginning I simply put in an expensive after market system. The one thing that has been great about this car is the maintenance has been cheaper than I expected. Once my factory warranty expired at 50k miles I opted to find an independent garage to work on my car and the biggest thing I had to do was replace the stock thermostat housing with an aluminum after market housing as the factory part tends to fail after a certain amount of time. Other than that minor problem this E39 has stood up to plenty of hard driving and at 72K miles it sure has a lot more in it.Feb 09, 2008
