Overall a great little vehicle, it has never gotten me into anything that it couldn't get us out of. That's pretty much what the TJ, YJ, CJ Jeeps do. 2000 is the last year of the true "Iron Duke" engine. These were the 2.5 Liter and 4.0 Liter Iron Block engines manufactured by American Motors Corporation. The last of the 4.0 Liter "Iron Duke" engines were used in the 2000 production of the Jeep Wranglers manufactured by Chrysler.Mar 23, 2015

Gas milage and the after market muffler are the only things i didnt like about this jeep.
The gas milage is to be expected though it isn't made to 20 plus milage.
And the muffler was professionally done and adds a deep growl to the engine. Feb 08, 2015

Have loved owning this car. Have really enjoyed taking the top off and driving around on nice days. Highly recommend the TJ model Wrangler to anyone looking for a fun, inexpensive car. Doesn't require a lot of care and maintenance and has been a highly dependable second car for my wife and I.Mar 17, 2013

The car is very good looking and is great both for adventurous drivers and for those that just want to use it in the city. It's a 4 cylinder car, so it is very fuel efficient for a big truck. It do not need any repairs and is very fun to drive! Oct 27, 2012

The jeep is in great condition and the mileage is fantastic. It is clean and is well taken care of. Service and routine maintenance has always been kept up with. Love the custom bumpers, definitely looks nicer then stock. Gives it a sportier look and feel. Nov 13, 2011

it is awesome. its a manual and its really fun to drive on road and offroad. takes off pretty good. only thing that is a pain in the butt is that just about all the bolts rust out which makes it difficult to work on.May 20, 2011

Great car! Fun to drive. 150,000 miles and haven't had to put in any money for repairs. Just regular maintenance. I will be replacing the top this year though. Original owner, and plan on keeping the car. May buy a new 4 door Jeep.May 11, 2011

yeah your car is fast. But, I can drive anywhere. Jeep's Legendary 4.0L engine... built by amc. Other than a leaky rad i haven't had any problems. Both diffs are locked on mine. I love it do death!!!!!!!! Go where regrets cant follow.Dec 16, 2010

I can't say enough good about my Jeep. It's reliable, has enough pickup with the 3.73 axle ratio to get on the interstate, and more fun than any other vehicle imaginable. Having driven everything from Porsches to Ferraris, I find that there is nothing on this planet that will ever replace the simple dependability and universally capable features my Jeep has.Apr 04, 2010

Performance in this Jeep is awesome. I love the 4.0L 6 cyl. The engine and the tranny are all very smooth and quiet when compared to the 2.5L. Still no ABS, but who cares, gives me an excuse as to why i ran the light. This one runs on 31"x10.5" street tires so no real off road capabilities.
Only slight rattles from passanger door. stiil being worked on as it too is a salvage title, completely rebuilt front sheet metal (fenders, hood, grille) straightened doors and bumper, needs new windshield frame
interior is luxury for a Jeep. CD, air, rear speakers, and cloth seats, same looking interior as most Jeeps. exterior: black, Jeep styling (love it or hate it)
gas mileage isnt the greatest but thats what you get with a vehicle that is almost completely flat on front and runs low gears in the axle (i.e. built for offroad), no maintence yet
the best Jeep to drive the 6 cyl. and 5 spd is awesome to play with on the streets, the best top down driving experence you can find on anything that has this much capability.Jul 16, 2009

this car can make it through anything.31 inch tires and heavy metal.i cant drive but it is my fav but the fastest it can go is like95 miles an hour and its stick.all around a good car. i would recomend it to anybody looking for a good car.we love our jeep

This is an all around good truck. It has good power and acceleration. It also has a very solid, well built drivetrain. These are very cheap to lift and also look amazing lifted. These will go anywhere that you want them to go. One of the best iv ever driven.May 28, 2008

It is a Jeep. The gas mileage sucks and there is not much room to haul more then one person or too much stuff, but other then that I absolutely love it. I've gone off-roading with it and it is all stock, no problems with that as long as you know your limits, which are quite high.Apr 07, 2008

Aside from its rough gas mileage and its high rollover rate Jeeps are incredibly well built
meaning as the mileage begins to rack up the less problems you'll eventually encounter.
As for performance its acceleration lacking and if you own a stick shift model the close
gear ratios that you need for off-roading will become annoying on daily drives. It does
however have relatively decent handling and high good torque (needed for offroading.)
Overall, if you are the outdoors type who like to have fun on dirt rather than asphalt then

My 2000 jeep wrangler with a 4.0 is stalling
My jeep all of a sudden started running rough and will stall until I turn key off and restart it then it'll run great for a few feet or miles and do it again... I changed the coil packs and still doing the same thing.

My jeep blinkers and other elictircal will stop working. Stop turn off switch turn back on and everything works again.
The problem is constant and shop cannot find the problem because it never does it when it is in the shop.

2000 jeep wrangler won’t start.
it’s not the battery. all lights and stuff come on. bought a brand new starter and put it in. still won’t. it doesn’t turn over. i had some guys look at it and they said that i’m not getting power to my relay. ive also switched them out and still nothing.
