There are still many 1999 Accords available, and with a price tag between $9,000 and $10,500, it's still a good deal. Engine options include a 2.3-liter, 135-hp 4-cylinder with clean emissions and excellent gas mileage, or you may go for the more powerful 3.0-liter V6, with 200 hp. It's not a fancy set of wheels, and not your style if you dream of sports cars. It is however comfortable, dependable, and a great vehicle for every day—and the brakes work when you need them.

I've only had this car for a few months, and so far it's been a decent find for $3,000. Basically rust issues, as this car has been in the rust belt it's entire existence. Other than that, I've been quite pleased with it.Apr 07, 2014

Performance:
Acceleration = Good
Braking = Good
Handling = Good
Quality: might need some small repairs, when backing up, the car squeeks
Apperance: Tan fur seats
Cost of Ownership:
Gas Milage = Good
Maintenance = Good
Fun Factor:
The car is really good to drive, I mostly like the Cruise Control when on the highway or thruway. Durring the summer, instead of having the AC on, I can open the Sun Roof.Feb 02, 2013

I guess automotive engineers and designers sometimes feel the need to add where nothing was lacking, or at least to add what was not lacking. A few unusual features, some bizarre, some frustrating, of this car: 1) Locking the driver's door from inside, locks all doors. I understand this feature, but it gets in the way far more often than it benefits me. 2) Unlocking passenger door with the key unlocks all doors. This one works for me. 3) Engaging the child-safety lock, on power windows, locks out driver's window controls! This is nothing short of a stupid mistake. E.g., if the 4 year old in the back starts to open her window, the driver can lock out her control, but cannot close the window. I.e. as long as 4yo's finger is on her button, or child-safety is engaged, driver cannot close the window. 4) Driver's seat-bottom has 2 segments, which are each tilted/raised/lowered via knobs. I've not found that I can really get tailored comfort out of this, but one can change, or move pressure points, which can be nice on long trips. 5) There's a red LED forever blinking on the dash, to let me know that didn't follow some security procedure before disconnecting the battery. This is to prevent me from stealing my radio. Here's the thing, the "alarm" (the LED) is in my car. If someone does steal my radio, I'll know it by the missing radio. As for the stolen radio: it still works. As long as the thief doesn't hook up the light, he'll be fine. Of course, he won't know it if someone steals his (my) radio. :)
Back seats fold down, but pass-through from trunk is narrow and short enough to make me long for my old hatchbacks.Nov 15, 2011

Great fun to drive - surprisingly quiet and you have to rev hard to hear the engine. So it's smooth, sophisticated and very much the executive's choice. Or you can always have aspirations!

This is my 1999 Honda Accord. Got it in 2007 at 182,000 original miles and it has
only given me minor problems. It is a 5 speed 4 cyl VTEC motor that is a fuel
sipper...but gives you a nice power increase when you need it. I have since done
minor inexpensive modifications to improve driveablilty, fuel economy and power. I
get 25-28 total MPG regularly and the 16 gallon fuel tank lasts me at least two
weeks. I do what I can to take care of the exterior (previous owner neglected the
paint) but overall it is a great all-around car.Sep 08, 2010

love the body style and it has a strong motor fast not good on gas since its a v 6
but has a lot of power. fun to drive and very spacious. stock everything all the fun
stuff remote starter for cold winters love it! and alarm nice stock bosh stereo

Needs more horse power, maybe a V6 Accord runs faster. The general performance of the car is fine, braking is solid like a toad in pavement. The appereance is great, sporty specially if you put 17" wheels and a good pair of tires 225/45/17 is what I am using. Runs great on gas in highway in the city uses a lot of gasoline.Nov 11, 2009

Great gas mileage... as in 30 highway, still, even after 133000 miles. It corners wonderfully, and has the space for everything I need to take anywhere to fit. Great car, crazy fun to drive, anywhere, and ...at any speed. One more word.Aug 12, 2009

Your typical, good quality accord from honda. Nice
features, like sunroof, power everything, remotes,
alloys, and an interesting 5-speed manual
transmission. A good reliable car, with comfortable
seating for 4 (5) people. It has a nice feel, but its

Quality - no problems with the car. bought it at 50000 miles, it has 100000 miles now with no issues.
The stock hubcaps and steel wheels were cheap and generic looking. So aftermarket wheels make it much more unique. The car is fairly economical and can hold the whole family. I am pretty happy with it and would definitely recommend to friends. Dec 24, 2008

This is my wife's car. We have always loved it. It is a 4 cylinder, but it has enough giddy up to get you where you need to be. We have kept up with the usual routine maintenance, and are very pleased. It has been a relatively inexpensive car to own. The gas mileage is very reasonable and is very dependable.Oct 06, 2008

31+ mpg. The manual states a 7500 mile service interval but I change oil every 5000. Simple to replace headlights and taillights, not so simple to replace turn signal lights. Smooth and forgiving 5-speed manual transmission. Good build quality -- no rattles; a small squeak in the driver's seat; easy to dent and tear body panels and bumpers; solid "thump" when you close the doors. Exterior styling is a bit bland but not dated. Wish a more luxurious interior was available when I bought the car, but the ergonomics are good. Easy to drive, easy to park. Aug 26, 2008

Honda makes the best cars.
The Honda Accord is Honda's flagship model and it shows. The build quality is beyond comparison and the attention to detail in the interior is amazing. I got the four cylinder model for the gas savings, and I could easily get 35 miles/gallon on the highway.Jul 27, 2008

This is my first car. Got it when I was 16. I love this car it has all the pwr I really need and thats coming from a spirited driver. I topped out at 131mph before and kept side by side to a 99 v6 mustang 5 spd man. It stays pretty composed in corners not a lot lean. I put 18 ICW racing rims on it. Comfortable seats, beautiful interior, gorgeous on the outside.
Everything just feels great. Driving this car is so intuitive.
You never feel like you have to "force" the car to do anything.
One of the best cars you'll ever drive.
