I owned a 1998 Ford Mustang Cobra from 1999 until 2010 and it was one of the best cars I have ever owned. Its only weakness was its notchy five speed manual transmission. It was fast, comfortable and had no mechanical or electrical issues.May 09, 2022

This car features a 500 hp supercharged V8. This car was a limited edition Cobra with only 25K miles and sold originally for 28K with over 10K of modifications. So Yes iit was a great value. The car is insanely fast is only missing a parachute to slow it down. Other cars i would compare it to are worn out, slow, and old rattle traps that do not compare to the rockets ship I purchased. Car has great styling, and performance from the factory, this one has about every performance part you can get for it. Great gas mileage for the amount of power, comfortable front seats, fun to drive with the top down. Grabs everybodys attention with its look and exhaust note.Aug 26, 2014

My favorite car that I've owned yet. Unbelievable power...not quite a great
people carrier and not gonna go anywhere in the snow, but for the money you
spend you cannot find a better car. 96-98 Cobras can be had from 8k on up to 12-
20k depending on what's done, procharger kit for another 5k and for about 15k

Very fast car stock. brakings great. all around good sports car. always room for more power with this engine. The car takes quite a bit of punishment from me and still drive like new. It only takes high test gas. It wont run well on regular.Apr 08, 2012

I have owned this car for almost 10yrs. I beat the snot out of it every time I get a chance. The car has never failed me other than having to change the clutch out. I am only pushing about 375hp with the mods it has. This car is lowered and it handles sweet. Nov 28, 2011

This 1998 Mustang SVT Cobra Conv has it all. Great performance excellent acceleration, superior braking, firm handling without sacrificing a nice ride. Drop the top, the fresh air and the sweet sound of the Magna Flow exhaust is outstanding. The interior and exterior is superior. My 98 Cobra looks, runs, and handles like I just drove it out of the dealership in 1998, with that, it has no squeaks and rattles for it's age. It's been garage kept since day 1 and has 67,000 miles on it. I am the second owner and payed $7,800 for this Cobra. It is my 14th Mustang and it is my favorite one out of all 14, included in those 14 was a 40th anniversary Mach 1, and a 96 Black cobra, and many foxbody 5.0's, some GT's some LX's. Pretty neat story how I got the car. I bought it from my old High School English teacher. I found it on Craigslist and didn't even know it was him till I went to pick it up. Bought it bone stock. Ended up spinning a rod bearing at 94k miles so I swapped the engine for an 03 supercharged motor. Right now it sits at 463hp/455 lb ft tq. It was a fun project. Gas mileage sucks but when you drive it you don't care. Great, good looking car with a little surprise under the hood. Nov 29, 2009

thing not great is the shifter and its position but it is
not hard to get used to. It is extremely fun to drive

Yo Its just my baby. Quick on the gas, it sounds great and girls like it. there are
some pitfalls, gas is a bummer if you drive it hard. doesnt matter cuz its a fun car.

things, otherwise it's great. It's got 120,000 miles on
it and still running strong, there are very few things
that I need to change on it but I'm picky about my car,
so they get changed. Has a Maximum Motorsports

this is my 98 cobra. it boasts a built bottom end, vortech blower, and all the usuals. its currently not running as i sent the heads away to get raceported. my soon to be wife is getting me a bigger blower and then intercooling it. it made 450 rwhp with a basic tune and runnin really rich. better tune soon to comeApr 07, 2009

lets see i have always loved the way cars like mine look. the cars are very powerful to be non supercharged. they are easy to maintain if they are kept up. the car is a blast to drive because its definately a head turner. i have dreamed to own one and now i do.Nov 27, 2008

The Cobra is powered by a 305 horsepower version of the 4.6-liter V-8with 32 valves and other goodies. By the time you reach second gear, you're already exceeding the speed limit in most sane communities. Third gear is an excellent one for cruising around. The revs aren't that high and you can travel at the speed limit and still have enough in reserve for great acceleration.
Fourth and fifth are almost afterthoughts. Sure, I did get to fifth during my morning commute (traffic gets up to 70 mph sometimes, even though it is often close), but the engine is idling at under 2,000 rpm at that speed. Fifth is a great gear for tooling along on an Interstate or major highway where you know you aren't going to need the great acceleration power of the engine too much.

45mph in First, 77mph in second, 115mph in third, 150mph in 4th. NEED I SAY MORE??? My car is Black with tan interior has 35,832 miles on it. I put cobra R chrome wheels on it and got 4.10gears koni double adjustable struts and shocks and steeda lowering springs. SO FAR THAT IS !! heheAug 26, 2008

The outside has a custom paint job of blue and silver candy coat making it look lighter in pictures. I have new dual halo projector lights and HID kit that is line to E-code specs. 10.5 cobra rims in the bac and 9.0 in the front with 315/35r17 tires on the back. Pinned hood and tinned windows. Interior is pretty much stocked. Aftermarket Pioneer stereo with satellite radio and ipod direct control. The speakers are sony xplodes. 250w in the front and 350w in the rear. Two new thump! amps pumping 500 and 600w each and also in the trunk is a second battery. Big magnaflow exhaust and new intercooler.Feb 28, 2008

abs light keeps coming on and off
a couple of days ago while accelerating to about 40mph while getting on the highway the ABS light came on.It stayed on til as I was exiting the highway and applied the brake.Then it came back on.After parking the car for about 2 hrs the light was off when I started to leave.It came on again for a short while and then off.Sometimes it stays on longer even though I've not gone over 45mph.Then it comes on when I get in and its the first start of the day.I went to Firestone and they attempted to check the ABS module but said that it would not communicate with there computor.The other modules did respond and so they said that I should take it to the dealer.Know this will probably be a big bill.Any ideas before I go that direction.Thanks
