Bill Ford, grandson of Henry Ford, said himself, the 2003 Mustang Cobra is one of the greatest Mustangs ever built. Ive owned 2 of them. Best car EVER. Overbuilt. Reliable, unlimited performance capabilities. Not good on gas but who cares. Worth every penny of gas.Nov 08, 2021

I love the car, the engine puts out around 550HP so traction can be tricky at times. Still working on removing some of the race suspension parts. I plan on reinstalling the rear seats at sometime. Overall the car is a blast to drive and I get a lot of looks.Mar 19, 2014

When I was looking for a performance car I was looking at 07 GT500's and just could not afford that price. If you want a still reliable car with performance like an older GT 500, you would be just as satisfied with an 03-04 Cobra. I bought my car with 100,000 miles on it, paid less than 20K less for it and have independent rear suspension. Buy parts for it from Ford Dealers are even cheaper now on cost. I drove it over 8 hours from dealer to home and at 75 mph most of the way with cruise on, I got 29.4 mph with it. I average around 25 mph when I don't play alot. Easy to upgrade for more power if you want for less cost. Just dynoed my car the other day, and with only a BBK Cold Air Induction Kit and Bassani Exhaust, I still made 370 hp at the wheels. Factory Flywheel is 390 hp. That is even amazing for a car that is 9 years old and has over 100k miles on it.Nov 19, 2012

Car handles amazing. Plenty of power especially around 3500 rpm. Amazing quality have had no problems with the car at all. Rides amazing. Clutch is a little tight. Best overall fun factor out of any car i have had. the sound of the supercharger even factory is amazing. Apr 10, 2012

Its like a lion cute and cuddly...until it bites your arm off, but with the right amount of steering input and a steady right foot it will dance around corners, making you look like Steve McQueen. And plain and simple...it gets em wet, thats about it.Nov 04, 2011

Performance 0-100 mph in 7 seconds 1/4 MILE 10.98@126 MPH 150 MPH around Daytona and Sebring Car is a blast and will do anything you need to do with the best of them for less money than any of its competition which is pretty slim!! 500 HP and 22 mpg on the interstate what more could you ask for ??Apr 17, 2011

This is an excellent weekend car, it has plenty power and handles amazing. It will also get 20mpg with cruise control on the highway. The interior of the car looks almost brand new and the outside is in great shape.Mar 15, 2011

This car was a blast to own. It was very well built. much faster than the 390hp it was rated at. The convertible top material was the same stuff used on the Jaguar convertibles and different than the GT and v6. This was a very nice touch and made owning a convertible a joy, not a hastle. The top was powered, not manual like the 1999 Vette I replaced it with. (I wish I did not)It had a thirst for fuel, but what superpowered V8 does not. It would of be nice if Ford put in a bigger gas tank. The whistle from the blower was pretty quiet, I would of liked a little more. Overall it was fun owned it and I might get another (this time a 04 Mystic Chrome version)Feb 27, 2011

Clean 03 terminator, last Dyno 735 rwhp, last time @ the track (before upgrades) 11.91 @ 1/4 of the mile, 122 mph, first place at The Home Depot car show, only 40k miles on it, very fun to drive, love it.Feb 13, 2011

This has to be the best car I've ever owned. It is the fastest (170mph) Hardest pulling (60 ft 1.2) Strongest motor (502/498 @ the wheel) and still gets 27 mpg on the highway. I haven't had to fix anything other than tires, and I take full responsibility for those :-)Sep 14, 2010

performance- acceleration, braking build quality- it has not really needed anything besides brakes, fuel and tires. appearance- both interior and exterior styling is awesome. this car is one of the funnest cars you will ever drive. i would strongly suggest this car.Sep 07, 2010

The performance from this is just right. Since it being an SVT it is tuned so everything works just right. Acceleration is beast if you know how to drive manual. The handling is also great, doing doughnuts in this is really easy. It was built wonderfully. Small cabin, but fits average people comfortably. The convertible tops makes it a whole lot funner to ride in. Kills a full tank in a night depending on how fast you drive, accelerate, and also how far you are travelling. Performance? This car has plenty of performance and a hell of a lot acceleration. The best 0-60 time this car has had was right around 2.0 to 2.1 seconds with drag radials. With slicks it is around 1.8 to 1.9. It has been my dream car from the first time Ford unveiled it. With the extreme performance of the engine it drinks its fare share of gas. Around 8 mpg on average in city and 15 to 18 on the highway. I gets expensive to fix when parts go bad because of the after market parts that make up 99% of the engine. I will say even with cost to maintain such a monster of a muscle car, I absolutely love it and love to drive it. If their was a fun factor it would be off the scale and climbing. Apr 23, 2010

One of the best engines from Ford. The Toyota Supra of the 2000 decade. From the factory the engine was over built, allowing its owner to modify it for more power. The build quality is standard Ford but considering I am hammering 650 to the wheels it is holding up quite well.Jan 07, 2010

Performance - Powerful, stops quick, the IRS handles well Build Quality - Good for a performance vehicle, most problems have a fix. the "head tick", front end click, driveline thud. Appearance - Very sharp, and unique from other mustangs Cost of Ownership - mileage sucks when in boost, aside from that it's a V8. Maintenance is average. I think the 03/04 cobras are built very well, the quaility of them is very well, nothing makes noise, and the performance of handling braking and power is amazing.....not to many cars that will hold 1,000 p on a stock bottom end. for the power they/ i make the gas milage is ok, and driving it is great. making people stare is the best part....Aug 15, 2009

it pulls! 12.8 at 117 better if i can ever get traction 12.8 spinning 1st and 2nd.walk most corvettes like there standing still. can out handle a corvette all around a great car. next step 2.3 whipple 650 to the tire! then take down a zr1. Aug 10, 2009

Supercharged 4.6L 32V V8 390hp (underrated) / 390lb-ft 0-60 under 5 seconds RWD 6spd Manual 3800lbs Big and heavy for a coupe. Interior gaps somewhat large but is a budget sports car so it's forgiven. Same with wind/road noise. Very capable with light modifications. Only Mustang with independant rear suspension = fair ride quality but promotes wheel hop upon heavy launch.Apr 15, 2008

This car is absolutely nuts. 390 rated bhp, 9.0psi of supercharged boost, rear-wheel drive, six-speed manual, CONVERTIBLE TOP... I could go on and on about this car. It is insanely fast, getting to 60mph in just less than 5 sec, and gets the tires roasting even with Nitto DR's equipped! Car handles like a charm too, taking right-angle turns at up to 45mph on stock suspension. Basically, there's not too much I can complain about with this car. Best combination of American muscle and sport performance for the money!Mar 11, 2008

The SVT Cobra Mustang is a pretty affordable muscle-car that nods in the general direction of track cars. It's supercharged V8 makes the car a beast and you can really feel the traction control try to deal with wheel-spin when you really push the car. It's bulky and a little clumsy but is till a true sports car- even if it doesn't have the look. Steering is tight and the clutch is heavy- maybe obnoxiously heavy. Bad news though, the interior sucks. My long legs have trouble finding a place anywhere in the car. With the exception of the seats, the interior is also very basic. Still the seats are pretty comfortable and the car would make a fine daily driver. Feb 25, 2008

I drive this car almost daily, it has over 60,000 miles and it has been relatively reliable. Most problems occurred under warranty. For some reason, the back brakes have had to be replaced, but the fronts are fine, which seems backwards to me. Can't beat having a convertible on a sunny day!Jan 11, 2008

My car has many upgrades so its different from a stock 03-04 cobra, but from driving mine its got very fast acceralation, its got coil-over suspension with many other suspension mods so it also handles very well. It could use some bigger brakes on it but they do the job. THe interior on it has leather and suede bucket seats, could use a bit less plastic though.Dec 15, 2007
