This car would have the potential to be the American civic/accord if it wasn't so gosh darn heavy! First off, this car is NOT small. It has mid/full size length with compact size width. It weighs about 3300 lbs. Acceleration is decent with the 3.8 V6 I have, but it still doesn't really throw you into the seat. Brakes are average and adequate for this size car. Suspension is perfect, 10/10, most comfortable car (suspension-wise) I have ever driven. Front seats are wicked uncomfortable though. Appearance has grown on me since I've owned it, has some cool lines. Grill and interior trim kinda look cheap. Handling is mediocre, lots of body roll. Gas mileage is 23-26 mpg on a good day, 18 if you're doing all city driving. Call me crazy, but my old Lumina was more fun to drive, handled better I guess. I've put a few hundred dollars into this car fixing the tensioner pulley, intake gasket, pcv valve. Take care of this car and it will be reliable for you. Parts are cheap since it's a domestic brand.Feb 20, 2013

This was my first car and it was a beater. Terrible outside with rust on the rocker panels and front quarterpanels and rear quarterpanels. Ran like a beast tho. Had a little bit of zip every once and a while.May 17, 2012

Dont like Buick's, but this one has lasted me about 8 years with very few repairs
needed beyond breaks, ect. Its an old beater, but fair-good drive through many
road types and conditions. Dependable. Big comfortable seats, big trunk, big car.

Good Acceleration, doesn't need lots of repairs just normal one's, leather interior, 20 mpg city, 25+ mpg highway, about 25 bucks for a tank of gas, fun to drive on long distance, and great cruise control mantains same speed for the most partJul 05, 2010

The buick is a very reliable car. i have not had one hickup yet with this regal. body wise it is very nice but sadly the car rust too easy. the regal is extremly fun to drive. it is also pretty quick down the track. the braking is amazing on this car, the interior is pretty nice and clean. the 3800 series II engine in these cars have major balls. It handles well. Some of the interior started coming apart at 10 years. There are a few rattles. The paint chipped off the front bumper and it is white and looks tacky. I get good mileage with this car. It is a comfortable ride.Mar 21, 2010

I love the power of its 3800 V6, gets good gas mileage, not bad car for $2000.
only bad part about it is a few dents and the paint is peeling off, otherwise its a
nice looking car. i like the styling of it, just needs a new coat of paint. .........That
was until it hit about 130k then nothing but problems and wasnt worth fixing, ABS

nice big moter but it makes alot of noise for such slow acceleration but once its movin theres no stoppin her, doors/windows rattle a good bit, if you do it right its a fun car to drive, but it took a huge chunk out of my wallet with both gas and maintenance but over all i'm glad it was my first carJan 29, 2010

The door handle is in an akward place making it prone
to breaking. Everything else is great. It has a leather

stock they are ok, lots of room for upgrades. mine is decked out, ridiculously fast and powerful. With nice paint job they look pretty mean. Smooth and quiet ride. luxury based but very fast with after market parts. Gets 29-33 miles per gallonJul 29, 2009

It has 57k miles, a 3800 v6, I don't owe anything on it, and parts are cheap. Lots of creature comforts. A bit a upstate NY cancer on the rocker panels. My grandfather always had Buicks, he is smiling on me.
Aug '10, now with 63K miles very reliable for the past year, gas mileage around town which is all I drive it is about 16-18mpg wish that was better, but it always has balls to accelerate when you want it to.May 31, 2009

Its fast, strong, luxurious, but it needs some cosmetic work other than that if i fix it will be really sick! its the GS package so it goes really fast. It has a V6 3.8L engine that gets 19 mpg city way/ 30 mpg highway. The car is power everything with mounted wheel controls and a key less entry.Oct 23, 2008

This car had plenty of horsepower, handled great (not like what you'd think considering it was a buick) and it had plenty of space inside. Amazingly, after putting my 2 12" subs in the trunk this baby had better insulation sound-wise than any other car I've been in. The only problem I experienced was a bent rear axle, that I later found out must have been a result of a prior accident the car had been in, seeing as I bought it at a used car dealer. Feb 27, 2008

My 1996 buick regal custom 3.8L temp gage is running almost hot. Help!
I've replaced the radiator cooling fan, temp sensor and thermostat and still get temp gage reading of 75% toward hot. While driving the temp gage will vary between 25% to 75% toward hot. The radiator fan still does not come on til I unplug the temp sensor. the temp gage also drops to zero with the unplug. Could the onboard computer be creating this problem? I hope not.
