why is my engine shaking?
1995 legacy (high mileage) - engine starts to vibrate at lights, but stops vibrating when put in neutral. Is this an engine problem or a transmission problem.

Great car and fun to drive. Was never worried in the snow. Got about 24mpg city and up to 30mpg highway. Wish it hadn't been in an accident, because otherwise it was a great car and stuck around for a long time. Hated to sell, but had to move away. Leather was nice, but wish it had heated seats. Put in an aftermarket stereo and speakers which helped. Sunroof was great! A/C was broken most of the time I had the car till I fixed and sold it. Heater worked great. Cup holder in awful spot. Above stereo?! What were they thinking. Could have used better head lights.Mar 03, 2015

Subaru makes a very durable car that has lots of interior room, and will drive anywhere, anytime and forever . Very good gas mileage for an awd car. Handles well, smooth ride, and a very quiet and vibration free 4cyl engine.Oct 04, 2013

i like it because is a good looking car, dislike it however because it's an automatic and it's not AWD, and i like how it's really not a tight squeeze to get around the engine every things kinda all right there.Nov 16, 2011

All Wheels Drive, Soft shocks, very good handling, buy mine and you will get a car
in very very good condition but with some rust. SUBARU - the car you would, not

Performance- Slow to accelerate, Slow to brake,handles ok.
Build Quality - needed lots of repairs
Appearance- White with gray interior some rust on the bottoms of doors and on Gas cap
Cost of Ownership- Hard on gas

The performance was a bit low , it had a 2.2L boxer motor, it was ok from 0 - 30 but beyond that it had trouble. It had decent quality, all parts were there and it worked great for many miles. it had small dings here and there but the interior was in good condition, clean good plastics. It was easy to maintain, although not the best on gas mileage, it was ok. this car was kind of fun considering it is all wheel drive for good snow fun.Dec 24, 2009

Like the way it drives and its dependability-

I bought it for $300 with a split radiator & semi siezed engine. Stripped the engine, cleaned up the offending piston with a wire wheel, rings & bearings, stuck it back together, new radiator, all good for 35000km so far. Does everything it's supposed to, starts, stops, keeps me warm & dry. Wanna buy it?Nov 08, 2009

I payed $400 for my car and it is the funnest car i have owned so far. The AWD gives it a very tight and responsive feel even at hight speeds on dirt even though the tires I have on it have a floatieness to them. I bought this car with 167,XXX miles on it and I have put one wheel bearing, one ball joint, brakes, and tires on it. I have put this car through more hell than any car should go through, and it just keeps going. My car is a 2.2l boxer engine with an automatic. I have had it going about 100 so far and that was on a tight windy road. I love the way this car just sticks to the road in AWD. I get about 32mpg. As far as being rugged i would say this ties with another subaru my friend had (97 impreza) for toughest little jap car I have seen. its not the prettiest car there ever was, but its fast, sticks to the road like its magnetized summer and winter, tough as hell. mine only cost me two ball joints and the mass air flow meter in 100,000KM. takes alot of gas though. its not so bad at 100km/h, but wind it out a lil bit and you can almost see the needle drop.Sep 27, 2009

The car is awesome, and i have put it through some serious obstacles...and the AWD comes in handy from time to time. It is also good for hauling a lot of stuff...It is also in unbelievable shape for having so many miles on it...going on 205,120 miles now.Jul 16, 2009

The full 4wd is really good combined with the boxer engine. Performance is a bit bad cause it has only got a 4-speed automatic transmission and takes maybe a little too much but not too much though, could be worse. And it's fun to drive all the time !Jan 28, 2009

It is A Wagon...but for the situation we were in it is def. the best car ever for $500.00. It is also a standard which makes it fun to drive and alittle better on gas!Spent more on tires then any mechanical problems!Dec 23, 2008

Pretty good car. . . definitely good in the snow. Not very great quality as far as the interior - a lot of the plastic things have snapped or broken easily, such as the center compartment between the two front seats. . . the button on the EB also popped off, and we had to buy a whole new EB system. However, the motor and machinery of the car are good quality. The performance is mediocre - up hills it gets to a certain point, where it just won't go any faster no matter how hard you press the gas. It gets good gas mileage, about 28 average. It looks pretty good on the outside as well, but dents very easily. Overall, this is a mediocre car, not impressing, but not terrible. It fulfills its purpose of getting us from Point A to Point B.Aug 11, 2008

Small transmission fluid leak
So I went to pick up at 1995 Subaru legacy AWD and I probably had to go an hour hour and a half away from my house to get it I checked the fluids before I left then check them again when I got home and the transmission fluid went from being a hair below full two being slightly below half full by the time I got home I was curious if there was anywhere that I can start looking to see if I could potentially find the leak and if so what steps should I take in order to fix the leak

Trans slipping trans oil temp light
So my 95 legacy 2.2 h4 is experiencing slippage when reaching about 4000 rpms. It catchs again around 6000 but i have to floor the gas pedal to promote the gear to engage . Im not sure exactly what is going on. But if i get under my car being that its 20 degrees f where i live and icy aswell i want to make sure im working in the right direction or atletlast on the right track anyone help??
