1995 Audi Cabriolet Preview summaryImage

The Audi Cabriolet is a stylish and sleek 2-door convertible that throws in a bit of elegance along with the unadulterated pleasure that goes along with convertible driving. There were no changes to the 1995 Cabriolet, which featured seating for four and a power retractable top that hid behind the backseat. Though not a racer by any stretch of the imagination, the 2.8-liter, 172-hp V6 Cabriolet provided enough speed and zip to take full advantage of its open top fun.

Though its wheelbase was 2 inches shorter than the Audi 90, the 1995 Cabriolet was fairly roomy, fitting four adults. It was also surprisingly quiet with the top up. Cruise control, leather seats and trim, power windows and locks, and dual front airbags were all standard. A Cold Weather package offers heated seats and locks.

The 1995 Cabriolet handled smoothly, almost like driving on air, say some owners. On days when you were forced to keep the top up, there was little wind or engine noise. Owners also like the looks of the car and its amazing durability over the years. Among the common complaints are the plastic rear window and the need for the top to retract quicker. Some owners report problems with the electrics.

A real future classic and somewhat undervalued. I like it's organic shape. Can be used as a very practical daily commuters car. Not cheap to run but I guess few drivers used it for long distances all the time. Excellent spare part and service back up from Audi.Jan 05, 2012

Performance – acceleration is good from its 150bhp, 2.6 litre V6 engine, braking is excellent from its all-round disc brakes, handling is precise with minimal scuttle shake. Build Quality – excellent build quality with no rust on its galvanised body. Full service history and timing belt kit/waterpump just replaced. Appearance – exterior styling and body is first class, highly attractive and timeless. Cost of Ownership – 22-37mpg, depending on driving style. Fun Factor – great fun to drive!Mar 21, 2009

This is a very solid car, its not built for speed, its a cruiser. I have the 1.9 TDi version at 90hp, and it's fast enough for my needs, plus it has great handling in turns, its a heavy car, and that makes it feel very safe. Its a head-turner, specially in summer. convertibles have that effect on people, hehe. I get something like 900kms out of a tank of Diesel, so, can't complain there. The interior styling is old-fashioned, but very functional, very confortable ride, I have the all leather interiors. Its a Cabrio, so watch out for rain, there's always a few drops with heavy rain, from the junction between window and rubber from the soft-top Would I recommend it? before you buy, get it checked out by a mechanic. if it hasnt been abused, it's definitly worth it. a great car.
