Germans like to have fun too. When they're tired of being cooped up in a well-built, solid, luxury sedan, they want to step out into the summer sun and literally let their top down. Enter the 1994 Audi Cabriolet.

Built on an Audi 90 platform, the 2-door Cabriolet is a convertible for four. It features the same 2.8-liter, 172-hp V6 engine as in the 90, but comes with a 4-speed auto tran only. The power convertible top folds down and out of the way under a cover behind the rear seat. Yes, there is a rear seat and yes, it can actually fit two adults, so you'll be able to take your friends along for the fun sporty ride the Cabriolet offers. Being an Audi, the Cabriolet comes with leather seats, standard power features, and air conditioning. For safety, ABS brakes and dual front airbags are standard as well.

A windscreen covers the backseat when it's not in use, helping to reduce excess wind force while you drive. So while it won't guarantee not to mess up your hair, it does cut down on some of the annoying noise. When the top is up, the aerodynamic engineering is supposed to ensure a quiet ride. According to many owners, the 1994 Cabriolet is quiet. The engine feel is smooth and sure, while the handling, especially in Sport mode, is responsive and fun. They like that it seats four, and many commented on the way the Cabriolet holds up over the years, showing little wear and tear. Owners would like more horsepower, since the Cabriolet is a heavy car. Costly repairs and lack of aftermarket parts is also a problem. Nobody likes the rear plastic window when the top is up.

This car replaced a 1989 Camry as a year-round second car. The winter package is great during Iowa winters and the galvanized body is very durable. In my younger years, I have owned British sports cars and Amercian pony cars. This is a luxury sport convertible, and -in my mid-sixties- it suits my wants just fine. Dec 02, 2013

A pork chop for the road. 3500lbs and 200hp do the math. Still faster than most Hondas on the road, especially around corners. And my god what road presence. Want a car everyone stares at? At the bottom where it says recommend to a friend, I would, but you might want to have some spare cash!Oct 13, 2009

En bil som varit i min ägo i över 10 år och som jag hoppas aldrig behöva sälja. Dels för jag lagt ut alldeles för mycket på den, men så är den precis som jag vill ha den nu med så ;)Sep 06, 2009
