I have a check engine light that comes on when I'm driving but no code is stored. i noticed it comes on when i am driving up hills, also when i try to accelerate when it is on the car will loose power and do this weird throttle motion like it wants to go but whatever is wrong will not let the car accelerate. The only thing i have done is changed the mass air flow sensor. The car has 65,000 miles on it
I recently purchased a 1994 legacy twin turbo right hand drive with 35,000 miles. I use it to deliver USPS rural mail. I have been experiencing a problem only when delivering mail it runs great when driving normally. When delivering mail its stop and go for approx. 5-6 hours and when I'm about 4 hours it it loses power and check engine light comes on. This only happens briefly and goes away it's been occurring more and more. Also I'm smelling gas fumes only when driving the mail route and it idles at 750- 800 rpms which I think is a bit low. I have had the coils replaced(3 were cracked), new plugs and wires, battery, air and fuel filter, and just recently replaced upper radiator hose because of a small pinhole spewing coolant. Any advice or recommendation would be greatly appreciated and there is not a dealership near me I would have to drive an hour. Thanks for reading about my problem. If you know a trustworthy mechanic near southwest virginia that could help greatly or if you can give me a list of things to check or get fixed. Anything you can do would be great.
