Performance - well not superb but I was happy with it. I just like the sound of the 3.1 rumble. Build quality - the dash seemed cheesy, it has needed some repairs but nothing real bad for a car of this age, intake gasket, alternator, water pump, p/s hose, door handles, ignition module, heater core, these things have been over the last 7 yrs and 60k. Appearance - I love the look of this car Cost - poor economy in town but on trips could manage 28-30mpg Fun - this is a fun car to drive Apr 30, 2010

Let me start out by saying that I'm a Pontiac enthusiast and have owned and worked on lots of them dating back to the 60's and every gen. thereafter, So I might be a bit partial to the ponchos. That said, I picked this one up on a trade for a moped and a few hundred bucks. It has 200 thousand miles, but the 3.1 still runs like a swiss clock. Amazing! This weekend, I changed all the fluids out, fixed the leaky radiator with JB weld, and installed new rotors and pads all around. Now its perfect again. Shes a good ol' girl, just needed some love and the right owner. Performance(acceleration) and exhaust note are quite impressive for a smaller corporate GM motor.Styling is sweet too!!I'm falling in love with this one already! Great car.Jul 13, 2009

The car I am reviewing is my 1993 Grand Prix GTP. It has the 3.4L V6 along with the four speed/overdrive automatic transmission. The car is very quick and delivers acceleration as soon as you press down on the accelerator. When I bought it, it had a vacuum leak and various components relying on the vacuum don't work properly. (Vent switches, idle control) The braking however does work very well even with a leak. I have not had a chance to really test out the brakes yet because I got the car when snow started to fly. I have had the ABS slow the car on ice and it seems to work as well as a car sliding on ice can. Handling hasn't really been put through any real test. The ride is extremely comfortable and the suspension is firm and smooth. The car hasn't been driven long enough to show any real indication of build quality. There aren't any rattles or noises coming from the car that are not explainable. The windows are a bit hard to use in the cold minus thirty weather, however I did not expect an old car like this to have great power windows in those extreme temperatures. The door handles, while looking cool, don't work so well. I broke the drivers side right off when when it got really cold out. Both handles did he the door rods adjusted to work again. I am waiting on a new handle for the passenger side, the internals on the inside were in such bad condition I decided it needed a new handle as well. The power ten-way front seats are still in good condition and move perfectly. The air pump still works very well. The seats are pretty comfortable; I want to take a long road trip when all my repairs are done to really test this thing out. The appearance is what you think of it. I do like hood scoops and louvres, however I am not the biggest fan of the louvres on my car. The tucked in lights look aggressive and unique. The ground effects all along the car give a sporty and mean look to the car. All my ground effects are still in pretty good condition and and mounted properly. I only have a small spot of rust and a tiny dent from the previous owner. The paint is in excellent condition. It still has a deep blue colour and sparkles in the paint. IT has a very spacious trunk. I also have the rear leather bucket seats. They are in very good condition, but I have not spent a lot of time in them. Cost of ownership is what you make of it. I haven't gotten a good gauge of gas mileage yet because of a vacuum leak causing the engine to burn excessively rich and more idling time for warming up. I get about two and a half weeks on a full tank of gas doing one or two short trips daily. Fun factor - This car is a blast. It warms up very fast, and is comfortable to drive. It has performance to spare and lots of room. The cost of ownership is the same as any car currently, however the previous owner left a lot of repairs for the car. i love this car. it has been with me sense i was 2.i have nothing to complain about this car because it is so reliable. i never really have any problems with it. Well everything is pretty much stock.kinda wanna keep it that way.This car was made with SE parts,Gt parts and GTP parts because the owner of the cardealership back in 93 wanted something special to show his customers and get them to buy the GPz he had. instead my moms got the car he had planned on keeping for himself. :) I plan on putting some 18 inch rims on it.or maybe some hotrod wheels. IVE GOT 287,175 MILES ON THIS BABY AND SHE STILL DIVES LIKE A CHAMP.its loud (sounds like a truck)which i love. i love to turn heads in this car because 1 there arent that many on the street and 2 because it shines like a disco ball 24-7.Aug 15, 2008
