This car is my first car, build tough, no rust for a 91. It has a 2.2l not turbo unfortunately. But soon enough a KLZE 2.5 v6. Some of my favourite features
would be auto seatbelts and it has a full moving steering wheel. High mileage but

Japanese refinement and American luxury and comfort all in one package. Its a fast hug curving car that you can take for a long trip because its real comfortable, and its beautiful, it turns heads. And you can find these cars for real cheap.Jul 03, 2009

brakes are bad, its a little rusty not to much just a coouple of spots here and there nothing to worry about tho, needs some new parts alternator, starter, wheels, exhaust, etc. more than i have money to fix which is a lotJun 27, 2009

I bought this car for my daughter to drive to high school because I had heard of it's safe handling and good mpg. A plus we discovered was the huge trunk space made by the hatchback. It had 91,000 miles when we bought it, and we had very few repairs over the years. It had superb handling and good performance. After my daughter purchased her own car, I drove it until 250,000 miles before the ignition switch wore out and I have not repaired it. It was a comfortable car to drive, but the back seats were more suited to children. Over 11 years and 160,000 miles we only replaced the radiator and alternator. The gas mileage was always around 32 mpg. A fun car to drive, with great styling.Jan 26, 2009

For the age this car is GREAT. The pontiac fiero/ford probe/dodge daytona were all great fuel efficient sports cars four cylinder turbos or small 6 cylinders, all of the three got 30 MPG or better highway, and 0-60 times in the low 7 or 8s, far superior to the crappy 4-cylinders of today, or the 4 cylinder turbo subarus that get 25 or 26 MPG and think they are cool..Aug 17, 2008

I was very reluctant to get this car because I had a bad experience with Ford before.

I got this car not of my own will, but it was my first car, so I dealt with it. In the year and a
half I owned the car it had to go into the shop at least 6 times for all sorts of issues
ranging from broken AC/Heaters to a mysteriously missing alternator belt(!).
The car did have quite a large trunk beings how it was a liftback, making about half of the
car truck space and if you ever needed more, you could always fold down the back seats.
Given it's horsepower, or lack-there-of, it was a decently nimble car that could get up
and go all the way to it's top speed. Of 95 MPH. Which was only achieved a few times.
Overall, I can't say I'm sad that I no longer own the car, in fact, it was pawned off to some
scrap yard, upon whose arrival the engine ceased to start.Apr 22, 2008

Sweet power, sweet torque, sounds like a V8, 3.0L ford aluminum block V6, possiblility of supercharger. like the creature comforts, power seats, power seat belts, digital dash sweet but analog tachs are better. pop up headlights still work, sunroof, 4 wheel disc, premuim sound system no need for new speakers<yet>, awful reliabilty had to tear out the fuel rail, upper manifold, injectors, fuel pump, fought half a year to get it running considering we didn't know what was wrong and got it for free from people at my church after they had replaced trans and engine. a real winner with 194,000 miles on it. the 3.0 is a soild motor, its overheated and put up with my brothers need to destroy things. everything works on it, cept' the wipers and the power antenna. it works great as a commuter and the insurance isnt to bad on it.Dec 11, 2007

why want my ford probe start?
probe ran great pulled in the driveway shut it off, went out the next morning to go to work and the car want start. I have checked pip,coil timing new belt installed a month ago, I have checked the fuel shut off, I did smell gas in the car a couple weeks ago. but it went away. was going to check fuel pump but I cannot get the back seat out. how do you remove it?

Overheating
I have a 1991 Ford Probe, 4cyl, with roughly 250,000 on it. The temperature gauge gradually goes beyond the red (260 degrees) zone, and before, the Check Engine light would come on when it hit the red mark. We noticed that the cap wasn't pressurizing. We replaced the thermostat (which was still bad) about a month ago, and discovered that the A/C Condenser Fan was not working, and the relay was in bad shape. We got a new relay and tested the fan, which still isn't working, but the Check Engine light stopped coming on when we tested it. Just yesterday, we decided to take it around the block to test it and see if the fan would come on while in action, and it still gradually climbed up to the hot mark, but the light didn't come on, until after we had gotten it back home. When I parked it, I heard that bubbling noise, as well as steam coming from the passenger side of the hood, where my reservoir is. My question is this; could my issue be that cap not pressurizing? Or could it possibly be my water pump or just a bad A/C Condenser Fan? Thoughts?

Turbo trubble?
My probe is acting strange just when the turbo is kicking in a "pling" comes and the car dies if you dont relese the gas pedel and then it wakes upp again and in some rpms/speeds it seems to choke is it the engine that dont get air from the turbo?=S please help =( love the car hate the problem //J
