Alternator is new and replaced the battety today, how or what do i need to do next to make the light go off??

I bought this car for 100 dallors. Ran it for 197000 miles before i threw a rod. Never had problems with it till the end. Since when I bought it was already beat up I'm not going to comment on appearance or handling but it was good enough to go from Los angeles to phoenix and back, Los Angeles to Seattle and back few times with no more maintenance than a oil change and a couple dozen tires. Why won't the radiator cooling fan turn on?
Not a robot, just a frustrated car owner. 2.5L engine with A/C. Cooling fan bench tested good. Fan temp sensor tested good for grnd to block. Temp sensor tested good in boiling water. With ignition switch on, fan plug (to temp sensor) tested good with test light coming on. Temp idiot light on dash comes on when overheating. Any other ideas?
