1982 Toyota Celica Preview summaryImage

In 1982, Toyota introduced the third generation of the Celica. The body was totally redesigned, with a boxier, more angular shape and flip-back headlights. A new trim level, the ST hatchback, was also introduced to the lineup.

In addition to the popular hatchback, the 1982 Toyota Celica was available as a coupe. Both body styles came in the sportier GT and the coupe came as a base-level ST. The engine was a 2.4-liter, 96 horsepower.

The new body style was very popular with drivers, and is still sought-after by Celica fans today. While drivers say the car can accelerate quickly from a stop, it takes a long time to get up to maximum speed. Many enthusiasts enjoy customizing and racing their 1982 Celicas.

Toyota Celica, is a celestial being, as she glides effortlessly through the dirt. 5speed gearbox, rear wheel drive, locked diff, and tight 21RC 2L motor. My car was rescued from a paddock saved from rusting away, and turned into an art/rally/bush bash beast!! Its compact size to throw around the track, un-catchable on the straight, carves up the corners, eats dirt for breakfast.Apr 08, 2015

I am the proud owner of the Only 1982 Celica GT-S Convertible. I found it the end of 2009 in NJ from a young car trader. I worked out a deal for under $ 1,300. Will be in magazines some day once I get it repainted and pampered. I did my homework on the car, talking to long time employees of ASC. ASC had created it as the Promo Car for the Autorama to see if the public showed interest. The car's Performance all around is Excellent with it's All Wheel Four Wheel Disc Brakes and the Famous 22 R engine. The FI engines came later on and made them perform even better. The Build Quality is Excellent because of the Reinforcement which aids in what would be your typical convertible flex. The Appearance is the Cream of the Celicas. The Cost Of Ownership is Excellent with Low Maintenance and Great Gas Milage. As far as the Fun Factor, all Five of mine are a 10 on the Ten Scale. I have had the best times, entering many a car show with my first White 1985 and haven't lost yet. Contact: stingrayblake63@yahoo.com Jul 05, 2010

That car was pimp. My dad bought it new and passed it on to me. Love it. It was pretty ghetto by the time I got it, but I still dug it. Got stolen once, crashed it a couple of times, but it still kept chugging on. Great first car haha.Dec 12, 2008
