Overview

The 2005 was virtually unchanged from the previous year. The biggest news for the Celica was that 2005 would be the last year it was produced.
The 2005 Toyota Celica was available only as a hatchback, which came as a GT or sportier GT-S. The GT came with a 1.8 liter, 140 horsepower engine. The sportier GT-S, which had distinctive exterior and interior styling, came with a 1.8-liter, 180 horsepower engine. This generation was also the first Celica to come available with a six-speed manual transmission. The GT engine got about 27/34 mpg, and the GT-S engine got about 23/30 mpg.
Celica fans said goodbye with heavy hearts. Like with all the models of this generation, many 2005 Toyota Celica owners found the car to be too slow, especially the GT, for a car marketed as a sports car. Some also found visibility to be poor out the back window, and many complained about the tiny backseat. Still, legions of Celica fans loved the car for its good looks while still having a reliable Toyota engine.

This is a very reliable car. I had one for years and now my son does too :) Easy maintenance and simple to work on.

Great lil car. Had a 93 gts blue with blue leather. 2.2l. Then onto 2 more. 2 was an 01 gts silver with black leather and a auto. The final and best 1 was an 02 gts sikver with black and a 6spd. The lift kicked in like someone hit you in the ass at 40. It was a badass lil car and wasnt slow. Mine was around 200hp. The car weighs next to nothing and i was able to race and win against many cars with toyotas 1.8 l vvtl-i. Variable valve timing lift with intelligence. All developed by yamaha. This thing redlined at 8300 and would go there regularly with ease. This lil engine loved to be thrashed and could handle it all. Unlike Hondas vtech, Toyota made it only have 4 variables where honda had 8. If check engine light one no lift or vtech etc. Low oil pressure no lift or vtech etc. Miss mine everyday! Great summer car and with correct tires this thing corners like its on rails!! Its too bad they are all high miles now and its very rare to find a gts with a 6spd...

fun to drive, easy to drive, great on gas, easy and reasonable maintenance, over all great car with the exception of the lack of space and occasional cd errors with stock radio. but good car for the money, holds value decently
