1965 Ford Thunderbird Preview summaryImage

Uncharacteristically for the second year of a new generation, the 1965 Ford Thunderbird had many new features added, included standard front disc brakes and sequential turn signals (the tail lights indicated turn direction via light order flashing).

A 6.4-liter, 390-cubic-inch V8 rated at 315 horsepower took 11 seconds to go from 0-60 mph, a deviation from the T-bird's muscle-car roots. Sales fell from 92,465 in 1964 to 74,972 in 1965, despite having many people interested in any of the T-bird trims: the convertible, hardtop, or Landau.

It had all that I was looking for in a n older care. The year related to my Senior year in HS. The color was what I wanted. I also wanted a convertible and the mileage was good. Jan 24, 2022
