What should I look for when buying a used Toyota Grand Highlander?

Across all model years, accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure alert with steering assist, lane-tracing assist, road-sign recognition, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control.
• Infotainment: a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
• Fuel efficiency: gas-powered models with FWD will return 21 mpg city, 28 highway, and 24 combined while adding AWD will bring those numbers to 21/27/23 for the XLE trim and 20/26/22 for the Limited and Platinum trims.

Which Toyota Grand Highlander trim should I buy?

The 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander offers these trims:

• XLE: This is the entry point and brings Softex synthetic leather, a 10-way power-adjustable driver seat with lumbar support, heated front seats, and standard second-row sunshades. It is the best-value trim if you want the core Grand Highlander experience with strong everyday comfort.
• Limited: This trim adds real leather, ventilated front seats, and a heated steering wheel, making it a good fit if you want a more upscale cabin.
• Platinum: This top trim adds the most premium feel, with available Portobello upholstery, plus the highest-end equipment in the lineup.

What Toyota Grand Highlander do most buyers choose?

The Toyota Grand Highlander years with the most listings are 2025, 2024, and 2026.

Higher-listing years usually draw more shoppers because they give you more inventory to compare, more pricing spread, and a better chance of finding the right trim and condition. That combination tends to make them the most popular used picks.

What is the Toyota Grand Highlander's resale value?

Both model years show lower prices than a year ago, which is good news if you are shopping used. The declines are meaningful but not extreme, and they suggest recent Grand Highlander models have become more approachable for buyers. The 2024 and 2025 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Toyota Grand Highlander safe?

• 2024: 9/10

For the safest used buy, the 2024 model posts the highest confirmed score of 9/10.

Should I buy a used Toyota Grand Highlander now or wait for the next model?

Starting things off, Toyota’s 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine will produce 265 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. For folks willing to sacrifice power for fuel efficiency, a 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid option will develop 245 combined net horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque.
