I worked with Ryan online and through text to get a deal set up due to the distance to the dealership. I was very clear that I was looking for a clean vehicle, and explained in detail about experiences at other dealerships that I did not want to happen again. Although really wouldn't budge on their internet price, we came to an agreement. I stressed my requirements of the car being clean, paint being in top condition. I was very clear that needed to know about any and all flaws before I made the drive, because it is a long drive and I would have a baby with me, and hoped to have paperwork and everything prepared as much as possible before I arrived. I was assured it was flawless, that everything would be ready. Upon arrival, the vehicle was not up to the expectation set by my conversations with the salesman. The rear bumper was not attached properly, visibly loose and not aligned. The paint was swirled badly and had many scuffs and scratches, all of which could be easily repaired with a simple buff and polish. Two of the tires had moderate sidewall damage. The driver's door handle was missing a plastic cover; the metal lock cylinder was exposed. The interior was barely clean; the tan leather seats were mildly dirty and wiped in the main visible areas only, any deeper investigation revealed dirt and grime. The driver’s seat had a poorly done tear repair that did not match the color, looking like a light coffee stain in about a 6" square area. I requested that these things be taken care of before purchase. They were only willing to attach the bumper properly and order the cover for the door handle. Moe was the sales manager throughout the process. He was somewhat passive aggressive and combative, as well as slightly condescending. There was a distinct feeling that my requests were ridiculous and that I was just trying to drive the price down. I was told multiple times that they could not go any lower or spend any money fixing the vehicle, even though I never once requested a price adjustment, simply asked that the expectation set during my communications with the salesman be upheld. In the end I purchased the vehicle because I like it, not because it was a good deal; I will still have to invest to have the paint mechanically corrected, the leather seat repaired and interior cleaned, and purchase two tires. The process took 4 hours, plus 3 hours of drive time. The dealership is very nice, Coffee, water and bagels are available. The parking area was not large enough for the volume of customers there. I was given my choice of nice VW keychains upon completing the paperwork.

Very satisfactory purchasing experience. The car was as advertised so it was worth the 90 mile drive there. Best price in our part of the state. Our salesman was knowledgeable & helpful. I would definitely buy from VW of South Charlotte again.

Not a pleasant one. I called about purchasing a truck. The sales agent said that they would call me back (this was on a Sunday), I had to call several times that day with no answer. The next morning I called again and the agent said that if I put a deposit down that they would hold the truck for me and the next thing that I knew, the truck had sold. I feel that if he would have called me back on Sunday that we would have come up that day and purchased the truck that I made clear to him that we were interested in. Very disappointing experience!!

The salesman really didn’t know anything about to the car. I was showing him things about the car! Granted it is a Volkswagen dealership and not a Mini dealership but i make an appointment to come so he should have brushed up on some knowledge about that car. When test driving the check engine light came on as soon as i start to accelerate. When we asked the salesman about it he had no idea and didn’t seem to car either. Once we got back to the dealership he had someone “look” at it and said that the gas cap was just loose..... (sure it was) And then when he brought the manager over he said that it was “probably” the gas cap and he would have someone look at it. (Which the salesman said someone already looked at it)

I had been dealing with this dealer all week, they knew I was very interested in the truck, I was pre approved from my bank with check in hand. They knew I would be there on Saturday at noon but sold the truck before I arrived! They are only interested in selling the car not concerned about the customer. I don't think I would do any business with them in the future.

Very, very poor after the sale follow up. I purchased my vehicle on the 1st of June and have had to send at least 5 or 6 emails just to find out what day my payments are due. Guess what, it's the 23rd and I still don't know. Financing felt very rushed as well. Not very happy.

My experience was good, not excellent. They communicate through text, which I do not like. When I had questions they were very indirect. For example I asked, "What interest rate was I approved for?" and they answered, "you will be pleasantly surprised." This was very irritating because I was out of town and needed to know details before traveling back to the dealership. However, at the end of the day I was able to purchase my dream car with a low interest rate.

When our online consultant Michael greeted me at the showroom he did so as an individual, but not my wife (this is 2015, not 1965) His focus later changed as he realized she was in charge of the money. After this sad introduction we were informed that the car that we were interested had been sold - this after I had called and emailed to express our interest, up until the morning we began our drive from Durham. Luckily (for whom?) a similar car was available. We expressed interest and took it for a test drive. Michael expounded on his "eclectic" background (no interest in us). Car seemed great and we were were ready to deal. When I asked him to come back with the figures, to our disappointment it was about $2000 ABOVE what we were expecting, no price flexibility. I could elaborate, but this I think was not Michael's fault. We have since bought an excellent similar 2011 TDI from a dealer in Raleigh which was way, way below what you were asking. Also, I should add, we had a far more professional experience, with a far less unctuous salesman.

My son was interested in this Mazda, with a price of 13,300 advertised, what they don't mention is they add $996.00 service fee, and a $699.00 doc fee to that, in addition to tag, title and taxes. This is very misleading , the price of the car is really$15,000.00 ! Also he was trying to trade in his car, they told him $10,400.00 with his car(which he thought was too much) so he went back less than a week later and they quoted him 11,600.00 !! Needless to say he's looking elsewhere for a car.

The sales person did not disclose an option was not on the car that was supposed to be included with that trim level, it was a back up camera with the GPS option was not on my car. All SEL with GPS should have back up camera. The sales person admitted it should be on the car but was not after I purchased it and got home. Sales mgr did not reply to my e-mail. Very unhappy.
