My wife and I had an extremely poor experience at Chapman BMW Camelback. The employee we worked with was unprofessional and rude the entire time. When we arrived, he didn’t bother to greet us or shake our hands. Before we started the test drive, he made a racially charged comment that made my wife uncomfortable. During the test drive, his only communication with us was barking directions. He even took a loud phone call while we were trying to evaluate the car. After the test drive, he didn’t sit down to have a conversation with us or show any interest in discussing our needs. He just took the keys to my potential trade in and stopped by every 5-7 minutes to request information. This was undoubtedly the worst car dealership experience we’ve ever had. Even though the car at Chapman was a better fit for our family, we refused to do business with them and bought elsewhere.

Collin was a professional, very knowledgeable and pleasant young man. We took almost 2 weeks in deciding to buy. He sent us text messages just to check in with us without over imposing. We didn't feel pressured in buying the vehicle. He provided all we asked for in a very quick manner. Sent us video of the car since we live quite a distance from the car dealer and a carfax. Explained in detail what he knows about the car. Collin and Wayne did our transaction fast and smooth. We are extremely pleased with this car dealer. Highly recommend Chapman, a family owned, very honest car dealership

I think I was a difficult applicant to get approved for by the banks as 4th vehicle, and Myles in finance made it happen 24 hours. Salesman John Wallace was very friendly and made me feel very comfortable with the car buying process. Definitely recommend him if you’re looking for a vehicle.

I drove about an hour. Or so out of my way because dealer advised they would have my payment where I needed it to be, once I got there they started the “dealer” games , made me wait 25 mins in an office and came back with a number 150 over what I could pay. Mind you I had already filled out application, sent all info required as I was limited on time. Car has all kinds of paint chips in the front and rims were scratched up from curbs , black rims with paint off. I won’t return.

Terrible experience and service. Wouldn't recommend. I came in to buy a car and was disrespect by the Chapman's salesman regarding the authentication of my car. Then followed to state he knew nothing about the car he was selling and that he had to watch a video to understand the history of the car and why it was called the "bullitt". They had a 10k mark up over the national listing price for the car. Since then the car price has dropped because no one is willing to pay that price for the vehicle. I left that day without buying a car. Another dealership just received the same car with less miles and better customer service right after dealing with Chapman's poor customer service. I am thankful I didn't purchase from them. I don't recommend anyone to waste time here.

Bought a 2016 VW Touareg. My 2nd vehicle purchased from Chapman BMW. Both have been super easy (yes really). Was given numbers. Countered with what I wanted for my trade and what rate I was prequalified for and had everything waiting for me BEFORE I got to the dealer to view the car and drive it. Went right to finance after.

What a SHAM this place is. Only go here if you are desperate as this place is deliberately TRYING to rip people off. The listed price on this vehicle was $13,900. The price they tried to lock me in at was over $18,000! Excuses were oh we have a $999 cleaning fee and a $675 doc fee and 8.3% tax and gap insurance and mandatory $899 car location assistace and almost $400 title fee and mystery fee of $1,000 for "add ons". I understand the tax and the doc fee (although AZ state tax is only 5.6% and the doc fee is on the high side) . After haggling they dropped to $17,400 and tried to lock us into a 6 year term for a "lower payment". No thanks. Waste of everyone's time. Will never go to any Chapman dealership again.

Our prep fee for a used vehicle is $695 which is a very standard fee, our Doc fee is $499
which is actually lower than most dealers, Phoenix Sales tax is in fact 8.6% (https://www.sale-tax.com/Arizona)
The other mystery fee is actually the sales tax on the price of the vehicle after reviewing your offer.
We understand there is a lot involved with buying a vehicle and are sorry we were unable to reach
an agreement on the vehicle of interest with you.

My overall experience was decent. Feedback and communication from the finance manager, Jeremy, was phenomenal. I would rate them 5 stars based on his professionalism, thoroughness, transparency, and excellent communication. I gave a 3 star rating due to insufficient communication from my sales rep as well as the details surrounding the paperwork that was originally submitted to the finance manager attempting to increase the sale of the vehicle (by a substantial amount) beyond that which was discussed. Overall, I would purchase from them again;however, that process would definitely be done in person. If it weren’t did Jeremy, I would not have purchased a vehicle from them; they should be proud to have him as a valued employee.

They continue to advertise a black Mercedes GLC 2016 vehicle that says 33,408 miles the actual miles are nearly double that at over 53,000 miles looks like a bait and switch scam zero stars ⭐️

Ginger, the vehicle actually has 48,402k miles on it and we are having an issue with our system loading this car as it was in our inventory previously, bought by one of our own Managers, and is now in again as it was traded, we have it listed for sale for the 2nd time.  The system kept pulling the original details vs. the updated ones.  There is a picture of the odometer on every listing we have so definitely no bait and switch attempts, nor something we practice ever.   We have attempted to reach you by phone to explain this to no avail and now see your review.  It has been corrected.

Although I called 2 hours before arriving, the salesmen was not prepared. My husband found the car before the salesman did. The car was locked and he was unprepared to open it. I told him I wanted to drive it and he took my license to make a copy which is normal, but then he wanted to go with us, which wasn't the experience I had with other dealers. I was asking him questions about the car ; motor, drivetrain, etc. and he was really clueless, especially about the drivetrain. When it was clear we wanted to purchase the car I asked the salesman if the car would be detailed before we picked it up, he said yes it would be. Although when we picked it up the next day, it was obvious little effort was made to the detail ie; car hadn't been freshly washed & sticker marks on the windshield. In the middle of the sale another salesman took over, it was unprofessional. When we picked it up, he handed us the keys & didn't even walk us to our car when we pick it up. Never again, Chapman BMW.

Chapman BMW was not very forthcoming on pricing and kept changing the pricing up and down. Pricing was visible online and they even told me another customer was offered a price lower then what they offered me. They also played games quoting me a price to pick up that included taxes and then saying they needed to ship it to me but the taxes would be my responsibility but did not lower the price. This was a ~ $5k uplift. We agreed on a price and then they would not honor the price agreed upon. I did not like my experience with them at all. I ended up buying another similar car for less and am really enjoying it.

Horrible I contacted them they contacted me I replied then nothing a day later they started the conversation over I replied then nothing happens about 4 times not only that but the original price for this car was between $14,500-$15,500 and the price went up to $16,254 they easier it 3 times the whole time I was trying to get it for the original price

Some very nice and helpful people. Cole was helpful in the sales process. I ran into some confusion with the paperwork, one very unfriendly finance person. It’s a black and white business, no room for negotiation or price conversation. It started with very good prices but after they added their required fees, shipping and specialties it climbed several thousand. The contract they sent was full of things we couldn’t sign and one finance manager told me that in about a hundred closings, they never had anyone ever question their signature requirements. That was dumbfounding. Anyway, it’s a good dealership with some good people but the closing errors left us cold and we cancelled the purchase.

Terrible business practices and very shady. Inquired on an out the door price for a vehicle since their listing shows what appears to be inflated extra fees in the fine print. They ignored the question and simply asked when I would be down to look at the vehicle. I asked for the out the door price again, but was told they couldn't answer that and I would need to sign up for the "my chapman tool" on their website. So I go to jump through the hoops and now the car price listed is $2000 more than originally listed. The price jumped up within two days of it being listed. I had read the other bad reviews and it confirmed my fears. They start off listing a good price. If you inquire on a car they believe people are interested in it so they increase the price. They don't negotiate on price plus add bogus fees on top of that. Totally unethical.

They were very polite and professional. The vehicles were as advertised from a quality perspective. But fees and an extra (unwanted GPS tracker that was way over priced) added $2000 to the price..not even including the tax, which is fair. So the advertised price was not even close....which is why I removed one star.

Typical “used car salesman” experience, after the test drive I was asked to wait for numbers. After 20 minutes of sitting by myself I decided to leave. On my way out I was told, “give me 2 minutes”, I said no thanks, send me the numbers. After several hours of me asking, I finally received a sheet of numbers above retail with 3K in additional fabricated dealer fees. Avoid these people, this dealership is really disappointing.

I would not purchase a vehicle from this dealer. I ended up not purchasing the car because they were misleading and the whole deal seemed shady. After we were to the contact phase, they told me the car had been in an accident. Then they wouldn't judge on the price. Then they mailed me the contract and raised the price of the car from $35 to $41 on their website. They told me I had to deal with the transfer fees and getting the car transferred from Arizona to Texas myself. I canceled the contact due to feeling very uncomfortable and mislead about the whole car buying experience.

While someone else purchased this vehicle before I did in less than 24 hours of my initial query, the dealership did get back to me quickly. I was unable to drive to Chapman and see the vehicle the first day due to schedule conflict, so someone else jumped on the car before I could see it the next day. Well, that happens! I felt my time evaluating this particular car was wasted due to the business practices of this dealership. When you read the fine print, you'll find the charges accessed against the car, that isn't included in the bold price that you see, will add more than $3,000 to the price. I won't support dealerships that practice this model.

Dealership likes post a “great deal” however with all the fees and dealership charges the price actually comes out to more than what CarGurus considers a “fair deal”. Sales staff are hostile when asked about additional fees, and their only justification for them is “other dealerships do this too”.

They both email even after the car was sold just to see if i have found any cars or sharing their inventory maybe something catches my eye. Was informed that the vehicle had just been purchased after speaking with the salesman only to see that it was still on the website the next day. Got in contact with the salesman on day two and worked out the details as well as had my bank contact them to start the paperwork. Called back at 5:30 Texas time to inform salesman my bank would have everything that was necessary to them early the next morning, was asked to put down a $1000 to hold vehicle told the salesman I’d be back in touch after sending photo of drivers license and insurance card. Was contacted 15 minutes later and informed the vehicle was sold. This occurred 4/23 and the vehicle is still listed on Cargurus as of 5/4/20. I’d be very cautious about investing time dealing with this organization out of state. Definitely the worst car buying experience I’ve ever had.

From being out-of-state the buying process and having it delivered from Arizona to Florida was pretty easy. The ball was dropped on the paperwork, I was sent an application for an Arizona registration and title, even though I live in Florida, I did not receive my bill of sale or my finance agreement from the dealership, once I requested it to be emailed to me it took 5 days to get! I had 10 Days to originally legally have registered in Florida, I went far passed that. I did not receive the title as I was not told that Arizona was a title holding State and that they were sending it direct to the financier,even though for whatever reason in Florida they cannot access the interstate electronic title they need a hard copy of the title in order to register the car here. After multiple phone calls and leaving multiple emails and voicemails I received a call back saying I need to request an out-of-state buying packet from my financer Wells Fargo. It would have been nice to know all of that.

From the time I made initial contact to the time they actually sold the car to a customer, the price increased three times online. When I contacted them, I saw that the price changed immediately. Then it increased again. Told them I was not interested but got an alert that the vehicle had been sold and saw that the price went up again. Seems to be the norm with many of the dealers on Cargurus. They entice you to inquire when it says great deal, then say it was a “technical” error...sad.

Let me start by saying that I live in Alabama and the car I was trying to purchase was being sold by Chapman BMW in Arizona. The staff at Chapman were very friendly and seemed to be genuinely interested in making the sale. However be warned, there are approximately $3000 in “fees” required by them that aren’t reflected in the purchase price that is shown on CarGurus. Despite this I decided to purchase the vehicle because it was exactly what I’d been looking for. Everything went smoothly and I financed through my credit union but when it came time to submit the paperwork and funds from the credit union, Chapman BMW was unable to supply my financial institution with neither a copy of the title nor a letter of guarantee of title. Unsurprisingly, due to lack of proof of title for the vehicle I was unable to complete the purchase. I was told by them that Arizona law made it illegal for them to email a copy of the title to an out of state institution. Wtf?

Internet buyer beware! I purchased a 2019 mini from them through internet. It took 14 days after they had certified funds in hand before it shipped. {would have been fine if they had not told me it would ship as soon as they received funds}. Whats worse is that car showed up with only one key, no spare, no jack, factory floor matts have been removed. Was a good deal except it will be 500 for a spare key, 175 for a spare and 200 for floor matts. Nice car but the good deal came at a price of rounding the rest of the parts up. Headache!

Back story: I inquired about a car advertised at 32,600 on car gurus, only to see later the car had been bumped to 40k. I contacted the dealership again to clarify price and was told the 32,600 price would be “honored”. (Which is the value of the car by the way) Great, you would think? Not so fast . The dealership added $3300 total in fees to purchase, $500 for “accessories” , $600 for “preparation”, $500 for doc fees (above average), and $600 for license, and title etc (absurd amount!). I’m not finished. $900 for some “satellite access??”. Unapologetically insane if you ask me. I offered to purchase the car at actual advertised price (the price listed)—Sammy informed me this is “not how this works”. It is. If you advertise a price, you should accept that price when it’s offered. In good business, that IS how it “goes”.

The person who called didn’t listen to anything I asked regarding the vehicle or what warranties were included or ways to contact me. I specifically said i was at work and to please email and i would call them when i had a minute. Not more than 5 minutes later a sales person called me back. It was just so disrespectful for Cameron to ignore anything i just asked and had a sales person call me anyway for the sake of him making money. I decided not to do business with them because of it. If he didn’t have enough respect for me to listen to concerns over the phone I can only imagine what he would be like in person.. when he called to follow up I told Cameron exactly how I felt and his response she was “Whatever”

I was contacted the next day. The representative, Alan, was very helpful. He answered all my questions, provided suggestions, and offered options. He never once pressured me, and while I decided to wait until a later time, he was understanding and invited me to reach out whenever I was ready. Emailed twice in 7 day period only auto response 1rst time, 2nd email immediate call back, spoke 15 min, questions/answers, I made offer, rep said he'd get back nxt am....No call back. So I called pm nxt eve..was told car sold 1 wk ago. They tried steer me to a different car..Pitiful unprofessional. I'm 62yo AF Vet bsns owner, own 2 vettes n 4 other cars,.hv bought sold 7 cars last 2 yrs..Also learned These folks also hv ridiculous add on fees...Stay away. "One is only as good as One's word n handshake..I'll shop elsewhere.

Responsive but "old school" pricing tactics turned us off and made us shop elsewhere. Their price seems attractive at face value but they added the following fees: $499.00 Doc Fee $695.00 Safety and Prep fee $884.00 Kahu and VTR engraving All of these fees were described as "mandatory".

Overall experience was positive with salesperson Jackie. She kept in communication with us and provided all the information that we requested. The vehicle was detailed and kept in the shade for delivery for our convenience. I would do business again with Jackie as she was upfront and displayed a pleasant demeanor. I don't buy from dealerships that are less than open, aggressive, and utilize high pressure sales tactics. Very happy with the vehicle we purchased.

Good overall service - but they tried sneaking things into the finance contract. Closely and clearly and constantly remind them exactly what you want and when you’re signing make sure you read every detail and ask them for the papers you signed leading up to the final contract. Beat thing to do Is go in with a loan from your lender and avoid all their back and forth about payments and interests etc.

This was one of the worst car buying experience I have ever had. It was a throwback to the early seventies The car was advertised on car gurus for $15100 I was putting down $5000 and trading in 2009 Volkswagen Beetle which I valued between $1000 and $2000 it was in good shape. First of all they came back with 9.9% financing despite advertising 4.4%(I have good credit)$800 car preparation fees and almost $1000 for a car location service which they said they could not sell the car without I eventually bought the car but had to walk out several times and in the end they still lied about the fact that they could not sell the car without the location service despite lowering the price to$480 Overall it was not a good experience but my wife wanted the car although nearly took it back when told of the hassle

This rate is not set in stone and I see you got a better rate once your credit ran. All fees are disclosed on the website and the safety feature you are speaking of is Kahu, is something we install on all of our vehicles, and is a valuable tracking system for your car. It was going great until I test drove the vehicle then the price went up. I got a quote via email from the dealer and after test driving the vehicle a few days later the quote was increased. I walked in with the salesman ready to make a deal and handed me print out with the higher price. I checked today and the price is even lower than the first quote. I have both quotes printed out with OTD pricing. I was put off by this.

This was a great experience. Our sales manager and our salesman (both named Mike) bent over backwards to help us get the vehicle. They did everything they could and I would recommend this place to everyone! *note that this was at their ‘value center’ and not the main BMW lot. The main lot was not helpful at all when trying to locate the other lot, I can’t remember who it was but he decided to take a call in the middle of our conversation after he realized we weren’t buying new.

Worst car buying experience ever!! They want you to use their financing or else the price of the car is more. That’s were they make their money in screwing you with the financing! I had a loan already for the car and they would not take it! I was told they don’t do “charity” I would never ever recommend them to anyone!!

Dealerships do profit providing financing but unlike the typical dealership, we offer $1000 price credit to the customer. Transparency is important which is why financing typically retained by the traditional dealership is passed on to the customer.

Car advertised was available and seem to be what we thought it was. However when we sat down to look at final pricing we discovered that there was $ 1500 in at on costs that were not necessary. Turns out advertised price was more of a hook and switch.

They contacted me quickly, but the "out the door" price was much higher than the advertised price due to too many hidden fees, document fees being too high, and all of the extra fine print. After all that added up, their prices were well above fair market value and the advertised online price. If I were to ever purchase a car from them, I would have to spend hours of time haggling. Not was I was hoping for.

My fiancé and I were very excited to go take a look at this car and had made our decision beforehand to purchase. We got in touch with the dealership and set an appointment. Unfortunately the dealership was not prepared for us when we arrived and had the vehicle in a different location. As they were arranging to bring the vehicle to where our appointment was it turns out someone else saw it and purchased the vehicle. It was ok at first very friendly. The problem we had was them giving us a monthly payment that was acceptable only to say "oops we forgot to add something, this is going to change everything" Boy did it change. Went from 0 down and $250 month to $5000 down and $470 month. Completely irritating.

After a series of conversations to the Internet Manager, we made agreement to acquire a (CPO) silver BMW X5 with the M Sport package. On Thursday, March 29th, BMW Camelback (CPO), I had arrived at the dealership and they had the wrong BMW X5 arranged for pick up. It was a dark gray non-M Sport package vehicle, and the internet manager had conceded that he or someone had the wrong vehicle. Consequently, we had to wait about 2 to 3 hours to get all of the paperwork corrected. Secondly, it was our expectation that we were acquiring a "certified pre- owned (CPO)" BMW X5, which would mean that the vehicle was thoroughly checked for faults and anomalies. However, when we had started up the vehicle, there was exclamation point "low remote battery" displayed on the dash. The internet manager shrugged off these issues as something that had occurred while initially starting up the vehicle. We are now forced to spend time repairing these defects that should have been addressed during "CPO" process of the vehicle. This is UNACCEPTABLE! Thirdly, the financial terms of the down payment was verbally communicated in one manner; however, when we were reviewing the financial paperwork, we were given a different expectation. Needless to say, the dealership's management had addressed this discrepancy. My wife and I will NEVER purchase another vehicle from Camelback BMW. They are dishonest, inconsistent, and unprofessional; therefore, they are not worthy of selling CPO BMW products.

Was inquiring about features of the vehicle. Salesman 1st name German called me. The car didn't fit my needs and he offered to look further. As it turned out I bought brand new on 3/31 and responded to him I appreciated his help and that I had made a purchase. The dealer and I were communicating through email but the salesman was adamant we needed to speak on the phone to complete a deal. Several times I asked for a total price for the car and the response was let’s get on the phone.

this dealer low balls on price on the internet tthen backs in tons of dealer add on i saw a car advertised at 8500 when i asked the out thedorr price they added dealer prep and what they called a desert package that was was over priced and just a way to jack up the price this was a used car window tint was on the ar before they got it yet over charged of it

Manager was extremely rude and aggressive and was yelling at us when I stated we had oher appointments and would think about this option stating “WELL WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE THEN?!” as we were waiting for him to tell us their best price (which was $100 less that listed price) even though there was a paint chip down to the metal. After many hours had passed they called us back with a better offer but we had already chosen a better car with a dealership that treated us like real human beings. We probably would’ve gone with this car but after our experience I couldn’t give them our business.

We are sorry to see your review.  To explain our pricing, we offer the customer a $1000 finance bonus, which would normally be paid to the dealer for financing with a bank, to the purchasing customer as an incentive.  It is a great offer and makes the deal that much better for the buyer.  If a cash purchase is chosen we cannot extend this offer as we will not receive this incentive from a bank.  It is clearly stated on our website and explained. The financing bonus only applies when financed.

While the car i was interested in was out of my budget, as most of the cars were, they responded promptly to my emails and, if i had had more time to get a car, were very willing to find ways to help me find a good car on my budget. Friendly, not overbearing or pushy. If i had had more time, would have tried to work with them.

Very good customer service, but very high fees. You must consider others dealers. They charge around 1.5k to 2k extra for docs fee, recondition fee, tint, etc, so from there you must add taxes and registration. Recondition fee around 699 to 799, tint 399, doc fee 699

We are sorry you feel our fees are high, our dealer doc fee of $389 is actually one of the lowest in the valley, and the reconditioning fee of $695 is standard on pre-owned vehicles – we prefer to disclose this fee versus hiding it in the price of the vehicle like other dealers. Great experience with Geoff Williams. Sales Manager, Andres (sp), was able to work with us and give us more for our trade in towards the purchase. My husband and I didn't want to finance and although they encouraged us to finance to take advantage of a finance discount, they didn't push it and we closed the deal in cash after some negotiation. Would highly recommend Geoff at Chapman BMW! Very happy with our purchase this far!

Excellent! The rep we worked with (Michael Messer) did a great job. He was nice, friendly, responsive and easy to work with. He answered all my questions and provided me with all the info I needed in a timely manner. Being that we live in Tucson, having a dealer that could work with us in this manner was crucial, and Micheal pulled it off. The Finance Manager (Michael ?...) also made the paperwork process as painless and as smooth as possible. He was also a great person to work with.

Slow. I was in Phoenix for one day and got an automatic response and then a response that was obvious they didn't read my request. Didn't visit them because they were slow in responding. The car that I was to look at was missing, they took us on a wild goose chase trying to find the car. We went to lunch and came back and still no car! Wasted 4.5 hours of my day. Then said they would let me know when they find it and I asked if they could bring it to me. They said no problem then when they found the car was told it would be pointless to bring it to me because they would have to go all the way back to the car lot anyway to do paperwork.

This dealer has not worked for me through every issue. They did refund me financially for some other issues I had that we managed to work through and I will not delve into those issues. I am posting this, because I found out after the fact that through either their actions or actions of their lendor, BMW Financial, I was denied several loans on the car and my credit report was screwed up, because of a failure to type and report my last name correctly. I lost on a $1000 finance bonus. When I brought this to their attention, they didn't seem to care and obviously didn't want to deal with me anymore, so I am posting this review. *UPDATE: After an investigation and a letter to the lendor, I have conclusively found that the dealer Chapman BMW failed to spell my name correctly on my credit application.

Their Internet sales guy was real responsive. We had a good experience and they were low pressure but we ended up not buying the car as I'm 6'1" andI couldn't sit in the backseat without hitting my head on the slanted back window (my younger daughter is probably going to end up being nearly 6 feet when she stops growing) and decided yellow wasn't the color we would prefer.

This was thier used lot...we liked the car we saw...no sales guy on test drive...when the time game for numbers they were incredibly rude...low balled us for our trade was sarcastic and rude to my husband and I and used some fake doctored up KBB report to justify thoer terrible unrealistic offer. They were highly unprofessional we couldnt even have a rational normal discussion. We walked out and will never go back... these small dealships need to overcharge under offer and nickel and dime you to meet thier overhead...this one is no different and the worst ive seem yet!

Dealer responded in a timely manner. But unfortunately the car was sold. They still tried to be helpful by telling us of other cars they had.

I would go back to this dealer in a heartbeat. Joe was very easy to work with, no pressure. Got there at 5 for a test drive, left at 7 with my new vehicle (had financing already in place). Gave me more than I expected for my trade. Great experience.

Dealer emailed back and forth with me for days about a car, including the morning before I went to purchase it...I drove an hour to the dealership and when I arrived they couldn't find the car...then I was told it was sold. Sure would have been nice to know this before going out of my way to get there!
