There are 569 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2025 Volvo S60 a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. The 2025 Volvo S60 stands out as a compact luxury sedan that blends Scandinavian design, strong safety credentials, and a broad range of powertrains. It is built on Volvo’s Scalable Product Architecture and shares its platform with the S90, XC90, XC60, and V60, while also being the first Volvo model assembled in North America. Volvo’s top-down approach means even base models come with a panoramic moonroof, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 9-inch touchscreen, giving the cabin a premium feel without requiring a top trim.

For 2025, the range sits at the top of the third-generation S60’s evolution. The lineup includes the B5 turbocharged four-cylinder and the updated T8 Recharge, which produces 455 hp and 523 lb-ft of torque. The Ultra trim replaces Ultimate for this model year, and a Black Edition joins the range. The S60 also continues to emphasize safety, with City Safety standard on every car, and it has earned IIHS Top Safety Pick+ recognition in both 2021 and 2022. Buyers looking for a sedan that feels distinctive rather than generic may also appreciate the comfortable seats and the available high-end audio systems from Harman Kardon or Bowers and Wilkins.

There are a few tradeoffs to keep in mind. The S60 is not especially sporty compared with its Euro rivals, and rear-seat space is tight. On the used market, the T8 plug-in hybrid models from 2019 to 2022 are also worth careful consideration because the hybrid system is described as extremely complex and prone to teething issues that can lead to costly repairs. Even so, the 2025 Volvo S60 remains appealing for shoppers who want a stylish, safety-focused luxury sedan with a more individual character than the usual German alternatives. 36.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Volvo S60 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The 2025 Volvo S60 emphasizes safety, with City Safety standard on every car, and it has earned IIHS Top Safety Pick+ recognition in both 2021 and 2022. It also uses Volvo’s Scalable Product Architecture and offers a broad range of powertrains, which supports its position as a well-developed luxury sedan rather than a stripped-down entry model.

The main reliability caution for used buyers is the complexity of the plug-in hybrid setup in T8 models from earlier years, which can raise long-term ownership risk if maintenance history is weak or repairs have been deferred.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Volvo S60?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the car’s records match its advertised condition. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or a plug-in hybrid variant. Focus on overall condition, maintenance documentation, and any signs of prior bodywork or electrical issues.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Volvo S60?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient and compare listings closely.

• Deal availability: 36.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 569 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 5.65% year-over-year.

If you find a listing below $31,619, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Volvo S60's resale value?

The current average of $34,274 sits slightly above last year's $32,441.

That upward move suggests the market is still willing to pay for this model year, which can help support resale value if you buy well and keep the car in strong condition. The year-over-year increase also signals that demand has remained steady enough to keep prices from softening. For a future seller, that means a clean, well-maintained example should remain competitive if you decide to trade it in or list it privately.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2025 Volvo S60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 36.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices are up 5.65% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2025 Volvo S60 is the better pick if you want the newest version of this sedan’s safety-first, premium formula and you value a strong satisfaction signal in the market. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may give you a lower entry point while still delivering much of the same core appeal, so it is worth comparing listings side by side before you decide.
