The Volvo S60 has consistently received positive feedback from owners across various model years, particularly for its safety, comfort, and performance. Drivers commonly appreciate the luxurious feel of the interior, smooth handling, and powerful engines, especially with turbo models that enhance acceleration. Many find it to be a reliable choice for both daily driving and long trips, with notable fuel efficiency in several iterations. On the downside, some owners have pointed out issues like cramped rear space, high maintenance costs, and occasional concerns about reliability over the years. Nevertheless, the S60 remains a popular choice for those seeking a blend of luxury and practicality.

CarGurus recommends the 2023 Volvo S60
Summary
With 690 currently listed for sale and an average price of $27,461, 34.1% of 2023 Volvo S60 listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
89.4% of 2023 Volvo S60 listings on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2023 Volvo S60 stands out as a compact luxury sedan that leans hard into Volvo’s strengths: safety, comfort, and Scandinavian design. It rides on the brand’s SPA platform and carries over the refined design language and advanced safety systems associated with Volvo’s larger flagship sedan, but in a smaller, sleeker package. It also benefits from being the first Volvo model assembled in North America, which adds another layer of distinction to the car’s story.
For 2023, the S60’s lineup was streamlined and updated. The infotainment system switched to Volvo’s latest Google-based operating system, and the powertrain range was reduced to a B5 turbocharged four-cylinder and an updated T8 Recharge. The T8 Recharge produced 455 hp and 523 lb-ft of torque, while the Polestar Engineered option continued for this model year. The 2023 facelift also brought updated headlamps, bumpers, and wheels, along with Core, Plus, and Ultimate trim levels replacing the earlier trim structure. Inside, the S60 remained appealing for its high-quality materials, superb build quality, panoramic moonroof, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and 9-inch touchscreen.
The S60’s appeal is reinforced by its standard safety equipment and comfortable cabin. Every S60 came with Volvo’s City Safety collision avoidance system, and the model earned IIHS Top Safety Pick+ recognition in both 2021 and 2022. Buyers could also add driver-assistance features such as adaptive radar cruise control, lane-keep assist, a 360-degree camera, and adaptive LED headlamps through the Technology Package. On the downside, the S60 is not especially sporty compared with its European rivals, and its rear seats are tight. Even so, it remains a compelling choice for shoppers who want a stylish sedan with strong safety credentials and a distinctly different feel from the usual luxury-car alternatives.
