• Infotainment: standard App-Connect smartphone connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, and Bluetooth that can support two paired devices simultaneously
• Fuel efficiency: According to EPA fuel economy ratings, the Passat should return 28 mpg in combined driving. Instead, we saw 30.7 mpg on our mountainous Southern California testing loop, even when using Sport mode for the twisty bits.

The 2022 Volkswagen Passat offers these trims:

• SE: the base trim includes standard forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic rear braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, adaptive cruise control, and standard App-Connect smartphone connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; it suits you if you want the core Passat experience with the broadest everyday value.

What Volkswagen Passat do most buyers choose?

The Volkswagen Passat years with the most listings are 2016, 2014, and 2017.

These higher-volume years tend to attract more shoppers because they offer a wider selection at familiar price points. That makes it easier for you to compare condition, mileage, and equipment before deciding.

What is the Volkswagen Passat's resale value?

Most Passat model years are down year over year, and several recent years show double-digit declines. That pattern can work in your favor if you want to buy used, since it opens up more room for value on newer examples. A few older years have smaller changes, which suggests steadier pricing in the lower end of the lineup.

The 2015, 2018, and 2014 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
