- SR5: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers, since it adds a stronger mix of everyday equipment and is the step up used in the expert test vehicle.
- Platinum: This trim brings a more upscale feel with available features such as a head-up display, wireless phone charging, load-leveling rear height-control air suspension, power running boards, and a tow tech package with a wireless trailer camera system.
- TRD Rally Package: This rally-inspired setup adds 18-inch TRD off-road wheels, all-terrain tires, Bilstein shocks, skid plates, an electronically controlled locking rear differential, Toyota’s Multi-Terrain Select, Crawl Control, and Downhill Assist Control.
- Capstone: This top-end trim adds upscale touches such as power running boards, sound-reducing front windows, and a head-up display.

Customers say
The Toyota Tundra has consistently impressed owners over the years with its powerful engines, spacious interiors, and reputation for reliability. Drivers appreciate the smooth ride and capability of this truck, especially for towing and hauling. Many highlight its durability and strong performance across various conditions. However, some common complaints include less-than-ideal fuel economy and outdated technology compared to competitors. The Tundra's build quality and comfort remain strong selling points, but higher prices and certain features being lacking have caused some hesitation among buyers.

It's 2025 and across all makes new trucks have become incredibly expensive and surprisingly fragile. However, we found this preloved 2.5 gen Tundra and while even with a lot of miles already on it, we expect it to last and last. Plus it was way more affordable! This truck is a dream to drive, has very sure handling, capable stopping, and nice interior appointments. With plenty of room and the 4x4 at the twist of a knob, we can go anywhere! The longer bed holds enough and it can even tow the space shuttle whenever needed! We have found the 2014 Tundra to be a great value and a joy to own. It fulfills our truck requirements confidently and comfortably! Try it, you'll love it!

Why it stands out
The 2023 Toyota Tundra stands out because Toyota moved away from an outdated formula and replaced it with a more advanced and efficient pickup truck. After a dramatic redesign between the 2021 and 2022 model years, the Tundra arrived with a brand-new look, a much more modern powertrain, and a full technological makeover. For 2023, Toyota largely kept that formula intact while adding an SX appearance package for the SR5 trim level.
That combination makes the 2023 Toyota Tundra appealing to buyers who want a truck that feels current rather than merely familiar. The test-drive data points to multiple powertrain options, impressive technology, and good value for money as key strengths. At the same time, the truck’s design may be polarizing, and not all safety features are standard, so shoppers may want to pay close attention to equipment levels.
