Why it stands out
The 2024 Mazda CX-5 stands out in the compact SUV market thanks to its sporty handling and stylish design, reflecting Mazda's commitment to creating vehicles that are both practical and fun to drive. With a well-crafted interior that exudes a near-premium feel, combined with advanced safety features and user-friendly technology, the CX-5 appeals to urban drivers seeking both comfort and performance. Its impressive reliability ratings further enhance its competitive edge against rivals like the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4, making it a compelling choice for those looking for a versatile SUV.
Other model years to consider
The 2019 and 2018 Mazda CX-5 models present viable options for buyers, as both years feature an average user rating of 4.8 out of 5, indicating strong customer satisfaction. With average prices of approximately $19,016 and $16,868 respectively, these models also offer cost-effective solutions compared to newer options while maintaining a high percentage of good deals at 40%. In contrast, the 2022 and 2023 models, while having slightly higher user ratings, come with significantly higher price tags and lower percentages of good deals, making them less suitable for budget-conscious buyers.
Model years to approach with caution
When considering the Mazda CX-5 across various model years, buyers should take note of user feedback and pricing trends to make informed decisions. The 2021 model stands out with a high user rating of 4.7/5, although nearly two-thirds of listings are not classified as great deals, suggesting careful negotiation may be needed for optimal value. Conversely, the earlier models from 2014 and 2015 offer competitive pricing and strong user ratings but also reflect a significant percentage of listings that may not provide favorable terms, indicating that buyers should evaluate each option closely based on individual needs and market conditions.

What people say
Fantastic ride and comfort. It also looks nice and timeless.
I had been told to stick to Honda or Toyota for a practical car but I was frustrated having to go higher trims to get my dealbreakers like keyless entry or power seats. I also hadn’t been a fan of SUVs but wanted more cargo space, so I was looking for hatchbacks, but they are so hard to find. Thankfully a friend with this car suggested I try it- I was floored to see how many reasonably priced barely used options I had! And more importantly, the BASE model has everything I could want- keyless entry, power seats, heated seats, a great screen, and so much cargo space. I was comfortable driving this IMMEDIATELY despite never having an SUV. The seats being leather trim with suede centers are truly the best of both worlds. And I could care less than it doesn’t have a touch screen, because the control knob is amazing. I love that the base model has all these perks without a moonroof, which I truly did not want. The only downside I can think of is a less than stellar fuel economy, but I just don’t drive long enough distances for that to be much of a concern for me personally..
This is our second Mazda CX-5. Our 2015 model is still in excellent shape and we gifted it to our daughter. Our new 2024 Mazda CX-5 GS is wonderful! Luxurious, smooth ride, peppy engine, very comfortable. We love it! Friends who have driven with us thought we must have paid over $10,000 more than we did!
Perfect amount of features and luxury for me. Sleek design. Smooth and quiet ride.
So far I love everything about it! Love the cooling seats as well!
