Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2022 models.
Key things to evaluate:
- Safety package: Hyundai SmartSense with automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, automatic high beams, driver attention monitoring, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
- Infotainment: an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto.
Which Hyundai Tucson trim should I buy?
The 2024 Hyundai Tucson offers these trims:
- SE: The entry trim includes 17-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, two USB ports, remote keyless entry, a manually adjustable driver’s seat, HD radio, power windows, and an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto.
- SEL: This trim adds push-button start, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless device charging, and two more USB ports, making it the best-value choice for many shoppers.
- XRT: This trim adds unique black 19-inch alloy wheels, side steps, dark exterior trim, functional roof racks, and features from the SEL Convenience Package, including synthetic leather upholstery.
- Limited: The top trim adds ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, genuine leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, an upgraded Bose premium stereo system, memory settings for the driver’s seat, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree parking camera system, Hyundai’s Smart Park remote-parking feature, and a blind-spot camera system.
What Hyundai Tucson do most buyers choose?
The Hyundai Tucson years with the most listings are 2024, 2025, and 2023.
| Model Year | Total Listings | Good + Great Deals % |
|---|---|---|
| 2024 | 7,749 | 40.7% |
| 2025 | 7,560 | 40.6% |
| 2023 | 6,469 | 39.9% |
| 2026 | 4,336 | 41.4% |
| 2022 | 3,795 | 40.3% |
| 2021 | 2,513 | 39.2% |

What is the Hyundai Tucson's resale value?
| Model Year | Current Avg. Price | Year-Over-Year Change |

| 2022 | $20,079 | −10.52% |
| 2014 | $8,695 | −8.88% |
| 2020 | $15,736 | −8.86% |
| 2021 | $17,218 | −7.77% |
| 2019 | $14,191 | −7.13% |
| 2016 | $11,302 | −3.94% |
| 2023 | $22,945 | −3.56% |
| 2015 | $9,718 | −3.07% |
| 2018 | $12,940 | −2.75% |
| 2017 | $12,539 | −1.86% |
| 2024 | $23,578 | −0.25% |
Most Tucson model years are down year over year, which is helpful if you’re shopping used and want to benefit from softer pricing. The biggest drops are concentrated in newer and mid-cycle years, while a few older examples are down more modestly. That pattern suggests there are opportunities across the lineup, especially if you’re flexible on model year.
The 2024 model year is holding steady, with prices close to flat year-over-year.
The 2024, 2017, and 2018 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Why it stands out
The 2024 Hyundai Tucson stands out as a well-rounded compact SUV that blends an athletic, contemporary look with a long list of safety features. It is not trying to dominate one narrow category; instead, it aims to cover the broad mix of qualities many shoppers want in a small SUV. That makes it appealing if you want a vehicle that feels modern and useful without being overly specialized.
Its strengths include good passenger and cargo space, refined cabin styling, and an energetic turbocharged powertrain. The Tucson also offers impressive tech and safety features, which adds to its everyday appeal. At the same time, it is not perfect: the infotainment system can be frustrating, and the powertrain is described as disappointing in some respects. Overall, the 2024 Hyundai Tucson is a good-value choice for buyers who want a practical, spacious, and stylish compact SUV with plenty of equipment.
