Key things to evaluate:
- Safety package: Hyundai SmartSense driver-assistance systems
- Infotainment: 10.25-inch touchscreen with smartphone projection support
- Fuel efficiency: Fuel economy is superb with nearly 60 mpg on the highway on the Blue trim (EPA-rated at 51 mpg city, 58 mpg highway, and 54 mpg combined).
Which Hyundai Elantra trim should I buy?
The 2024 Hyundai Elantra offers...
- SE: Best if you want the lowest entry point with the 8-inch touchscreen, digital instrument panel, and standard safety features including forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, a driver attention monitor, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and auto high beams.
- SEL: A smart value choice if you want the 10.25-inch touchscreen and a more upscale tech setup; the SEL with the Convenience Package also adds cyclist detection, front cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control.
- N Line: The best-value pick for drivers who want the 1.6-liter turbo-four, 201 hp, seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, Bose audio, and a more engaging chassis balance.
- Limited: The most feature-rich choice, adding blind-spot cameras, a wireless charging pad, Highway Driving Assist, rear emergency braking, a 360-degree camera system, and front and rear parking sensors.
- N: The performance-focused trim, with 276 hp, 289 lb-ft of torque, and an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox for the strongest acceleration in the lineup.
What Hyundai Elantra do most buyers choose?
The Hyundai Elantra years with the most listings are 2024, 2025, and 2023.
| Model Year | Total Listings | Good + Great Deals % |
|---|---|---|

| 2025 | 5,211 | 31.9% |
| 2023 | 4,373 | 32.3% |
| 2026 | 3,214 | 30.9% |

Absolutely the best car I have ever owned! I bought it in 2015 as a certified pre-owned vehicle and never once did I have any mechanical issues other than just this year the pump for the windshield wiper fluid finally went out. However, my boyfriend and I were able to repair that on our own. I planned on keeping this car a good long time as I take care of my vehicles. Unfortunately I was rear-ended in October and the vehicle was totaled. Im putting my faith once again into Hyundai and buying a certified pre-owned 2020 Kona that I have researched heavily. I loved my Elantra and found it to be an excellent vehicle. I very much hope to have the same exact experience with my Kona as when I test drove a 2018 which had the same engine as the 2020 I found it extremely responsive, fantastic breaking, smooth ride even on bumpy bad roads, major safety features, very powerful, and felt just like my Elantra to drive.

Why it stands out
The 2023 Hyundai Elantra stands out because it tries to cover a wide range of buyer needs in one compact sedan. It is described as roomy, safe, efficient, and technologically advanced, and its lineup is broad enough to span basic transportation, a 50-mpg hybrid loaded with features, and a budget-friendly sports sedan. That versatility is a major part of its appeal, especially for shoppers who want a car that can be practical without feeling stripped down.
It also earns attention for its multiple powertrain options, easy-to-use technology, and excellent value for money. Those strengths make it easy to recommend to buyers who care about fuel economy, safety features, and getting a lot for the price. The main drawback noted is its potentially polarizing design, which means the Elantra’s styling may not be for everyone.
