Used Honda Civic for Sale near Rock Tavern, NY

How much does the Honda Civic cost in today's market?

Used Honda Civic prices span a wide range depending on model year. Here's what the market looks like right now:

The Honda Civic's current nationwide average price is $19,181, and its lowest point over the past year was $17,567. Recently, prices have come down for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

Is the Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — the Honda Civic is a strong used-car pick if you want a compact car that blends efficiency, practicality, and driving enjoyment. The all-generations owner rating is 4.47/5 across every model year in the data.

Owners consistently praise the Civic for reliability, fuel economy, and an enjoyable driving experience. Comfort, roomy interiors, and useful cargo space also come up often, especially from shoppers who want an easy daily driver with broad appeal.

Expert reviews rate the 2015 and 2020 models among the highest across all years.

The main tradeoffs across recent expert-tested years center on road noise, outdated technology in some trims, and some features being reserved for higher trims. Even so, the Civic's long-running durability and strong ownership satisfaction make it a confident used buy.

31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Are Honda Civic models reliable?

Owners and experts consistently point to the Civic's reliability, fuel economy, and easy day-to-day livability as core strengths. The model's long service life, low running costs, and strong owner satisfaction also support its reputation as a dependable compact car.

• Owners rate the Honda Civic between 4.5 and 5.0 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.

For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is generally manageable when you choose carefully and verify maintenance and history, especially on older examples.

What should I look for when buying a used Honda Civic?

Across all model years, at 66.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2023 models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Honda Sensing collection of advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS)
• Infotainment: 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
• Fuel efficiency: 31 mpg in the city, 39 mpg on the highway, and 34 mpg in combined driving

Which Honda Civic trim should I buy?

The 2026 Honda Civic offers these trims:

• LX: The entry trim uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 150 horsepower and 133 lb-ft of torque, plus a CVT and driving modes including Normal, Sport, and Econ. It suits you if you want the most affordable way into the lineup.
• Sport: This trim adds 18-inch wheels, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and eight speakers, making it the best-value pick for many shoppers who want more everyday convenience and a more polished feel.
• Sport Hybrid: The hybrid powertrain adds stronger performance and impressive efficiency, making it the right choice if you want the Civic's efficiency-focused setup.
• Sport Touring Hybrid: This trim adds larger 10.2-inch instrumentation and 9-inch infotainment displays, Google built-in, Alexa built-in, a Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless smartphone charging, and a 12-speaker Bose audio system for the most tech-forward Civic experience.
• Si: The Si brings a non-hybrid turbocharged gas engine and a manual transmission, giving you the sport sedan choice in the lineup.
• Type R: The Type R is the performance-focused hatchback variant for shoppers who want the most aggressive Civic in the range.

What Honda Civic do most buyers choose?

The Honda Civic years with the most listings are 2024, 2025, and 2023.

Higher-volume years tend to be the most popular used picks because they give you more listings to compare, more pricing flexibility, and a better chance of finding the trim and condition you want. They also often sit near the sweet spot between newer features and broader availability.

What is the Honda Civic's resale value?

Most Civic model years are moving lower year over year, which can work in your favor if you're shopping used. The pattern is especially helpful on recent models, where price drops can create better entry points without forcing you into much older inventory.

The 2014 model year is holding steady, with prices close to flat year-over-year.

The 2015, 2014, and 2024 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
