2011 Honda CR-Z Base Review
by ffluna301

Hybrid with style.

Great for a daily commuter. Fun to drive and has decent performance. I feel safe and in control driving it. Some blind spots while backing out of parking spots, so I added a reverse camera. Had more fun driving the CR X but this is a different time.

Avg. Dealer Rating: (42 reviews) "Steer clear! Terrible service! No follow up! False promises! Awful experience! Buy elsewhere! I don’t even know where to begin with this dealership! The name is incredibly misleading! Excellence Auto Direct is not a proper name for this dealership. Excellence is the last thing you should expect from this place. The owner will make promises he will never deliver on. The GM will try and take back the car after the bank buys it and becomes your lien holder. The sales manager will constantly harass you about their inventory of cars even after you buy a car. If you ask him to stop emailing you, he won’t, it took three times of asking nicely and a final time of asking not so nicely for it to stop. At least for now. My story begins when I found a 2013 Audi A4 with decent mileage. This one had all the features I wanted, so naturally I scheduled a test drive. I put it through the ringer. I knew it would need some extensive work to be at prime condition, but I wasn’t going to ask too much to get fixed just some important things. I requested that the adaptive light be fixed, because the warning light is illuminated on the dashboard. I requested the belly pan be replaced because it was torn exposing a good majority of the front under belly. The last thing I requested was the sun visor clips to be replaced because they were broken. All of these are reasonable, considering that the car also needed a Christmas list of things I’m still working on repairing. Fluid flush, brake pads, rotors, control arms, alignment, oil change, cabin filter replacement, engine air filter replacement, and new tires all are needed for this vehicle to even come close to good running condition. So again, these three things are very reasonable. All of these were agreed upon and that’s when it goes down hill. The sun visor clips were replaced in about four or five days. They said they had to order the belly pan and they would text me when they had it. So I waited over a week, no word from the dealer at all. So I reached out and asked about the status of the parts, I was told they were there and to bring the car in and they would install them. So I did. I left my car there and when I returned, the belly pan was not replaced. The sales manager tried convincing me that the belly pan was in the back of the car, and called it a “spoiler guard.” He ushered me to his office and looked up belly pan on his computer and it showed the front of the car under belly, the part I requested, he still tried to weasel his way out of the mistake that had been made and tell me that I’m wrong and I don’t know what I’m talking about. I had this vehicle taken to Audi Plano to be inspected before purchasing, so I knew what needed to be done to it. The service team showed me, and I also know the vehicles very well. Finally the sales manager realized I wasn’t stupid, and pulled the owner in, the owner said he would order the proper part and let me know when they have it in. So I waited again. At this point I still didn’t have my adaptive headlight fixed either, which the sales manager had written in the paperwork as “replace bulb.” After waiting another week and a half, and having to reach out again rather than the dealership following up, the parts were in. I brought the car in and dropped it off and returned home because I had been ill. The owner had started a video call with me after the mechanic had the car up on the maintenance rack and replaced the belly pan, and tried to convince me that the part was already replaced and I was crazy. Little did he know, I have pictures and video proving otherwise from directly after all the times it left the dealer. I put it on a jack myself, lifted it up to check and see what was replaced, and what wasn’t. Putting subtle markings on the parts that needed replacement so I knew if they were replaced or not. I came to pick up the car and over another week or so passed and I asked about the headlight unit. The GM sent me a text saying they refused to fix it because the sales manager had written it in the paper work as “replace bulb” yet when we had spoken, he said he would fix the adaptive lighting system. This has been the absolute worst experience I have ever had buying a car. I would never recommend anyone to buy from here. I would give this place zero rating if I could. "
