What should I look for when buying a used Honda CR-V Hybrid?

Across all model years, accident-free inventory is solid at 89.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Honda Sensing suite of advanced driver assistance systems
• Infotainment: 9-inch touchscreen infotainment display with wireless Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay
• Fuel efficiency: 40 mpg in combined driving on front-wheel-drive (FWD) models, 37 mpg combined on all-wheel-drive (AWD) ones. The TrailSport hybrid and its knobbier tires receive an extra penalty, but at 35 mpg combined, it’s still one of the most efficient adventure-oriented compact crossovers on the market and offers comparable gas mileage to other small AWD hybrid SUVs.

Which Honda CR-V Hybrid trim should I buy?

The 2026 Honda CR-V Hybrid offers these trims:

• Sport: The entry hybrid trim starts at $37,025 and gives you the core hybrid setup with the model’s efficient everyday character.
• TrailSport: This trim adds orange badges, Shark Gray 18-inch wheels, Continental CrossContact ATR tires, a silver skid-plate-style trim piece, black door handles, orange contrast stitching, embroidered headrests, and all-season floor mats; it suits you if you want the TrailSport look and added traction hardware.
• Sport-L: This trim adds a 10.2-inch digital driver information display and sits in the middle of the hybrid lineup for shoppers who want more cabin tech.
• Sport Touring: This top hybrid trim adds the 10.2-inch digital driver information display, Google built-in, and a 12-speaker Bose premium audio system; it is the best-value choice if you want the most feature-rich CR-V Hybrid.

What Honda CR-V Hybrid do most buyers choose?

The Honda CR-V Hybrid years with the most listings are 2025, 2024, and 2023.

These higher-volume years tend to be the most popular used picks because they give you more inventory to compare, which can make it easier to find the right trim, mileage, and price combination. They also tend to sit in the sweet spot between newer features and broader availability.

What is the Honda CR-V Hybrid's resale value?

The table shows broad downward movement across the lineup, which is good news if you're shopping used and want prices that have eased from a year ago. The declines are strongest on the older model years, while the newer ones are changing more gradually. That pattern suggests you can often find better value in recent used examples without giving up the CR-V Hybrid's core appeal.

The 2021, 2026, and 2024 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Honda CR-V Hybrid safe?

• 2026: 7/10
• 2024: 9/10
• 2023: 10/10
• 2021: 8/10
• 2020: 9/10

Honda Sensing comes standard on every model, bringing automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, and traffic jam assist.

For the safest used buy, the 2023 model posts the highest confirmed score of 10/10.

Should I buy a used Honda CR-V Hybrid now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2026 model is at −2.04% versus a year ago, and the 2025 model is at −2.65%.

• Sweet-spot year: The 2025 model has the most listings at a current average price of $35,113. The Honda CR-V Hybrid offers a comfortable ride, spacious seating, and a practical cabin that make it easy to live with every day.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: A 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle engine partners with two electric motors for 204 hp and 247 lb-ft of torque, and fuel economy for the hybrid comes in at 40 mpg in combined driving on front-wheel-drive (FWD) models, 37 mpg combined on all-wheel-drive (AWD) ones.
• Tech: Honda has made the previously optional 9-inch touchscreen infotainment display standard equipment on all 2026 CR-Vs, and wireless Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay are both standard.
• Safety: Honda includes the Honda Sensing suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) on every model, and blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard only above the LX trim.
• Starting price: The CR-V Hybrid has a starting MSRP of $37,025 for the Sport trim level.

If you're buying used today, the 2025 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
