Which Chevrolet Equinox trim should I buy?

The 2026 Chevrolet Equinox offers these trims:

• LT: The entry trim brings standard chrome grille mesh, 17-inch wheels, a well-executed interior, and the core tech setup; it’s the best-value choice if you want the Equinox’s main strengths without moving up the lineup.
• Activ: This trim adds a more prominent lower front fascia, more chrome trim, all-terrain tires on 17-inch wheels, and unique microfiber and Evotex seats, making it the pick if you want the most rugged-looking version.
• RS: This trim adds more black trim, a wider grille, standard 19-inch wheels, and a flat-bottom steering wheel, giving you the sportiest appearance in the lineup.

What Chevrolet Equinox do most buyers choose?

The Chevrolet Equinox years with the most listings are 2025, 2024, and 2023.

These higher-volume model years tend to be popular because they offer a broad mix of newer features, strong availability, and plenty of shopping choice. When supply is deeper, you also get more chances to compare prices and find a well-equipped example.

What is the Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

Most Equinox model years are down year over year, and several recent years show double-digit drops. That pattern can work in your favor if you’re shopping used, since it opens up more room to find a newer model at a lower price than before. The smaller declines on a few older years suggest those versions have been a bit steadier in the market.

The 2014, 2024, and 2017 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Should I buy a used Chevrolet Equinox now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2026 model is at −11.55% versus a year ago, and the 2025 model is at −10.26%.
• Deal availability: The 2026 model has 39.1% good and great deals, and the 2025 model has 37.9%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2025 model has the most listings at a current average price of $25,679. The Chevrolet Equinox offers a roomy cabin and practical everyday packaging that make it easy to live with.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: The only available engine is a turbocharged 1.5-liter inline-four making 175 horsepower, and FWD models are connected to a CVT while AWD models have an eight-speed automatic transmission and are rated at 203 lb-ft of torque.
• Tech: An 11-inch digital instrument cluster and 11.3-inch touchscreen are standard, and the Equinox retains wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
• Safety: The latest model adds a surround-view camera system, a digital rear-view mirror, rear pedestrian alert, and traffic-sign recognition through the Safety and Technology Package.
• Starting price: Pricing starts at $30,795 for an LT model with FWD.

If you're buying used today, the 2025 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
