The Alfa Romeo Giulia's current nationwide average price is $19,824, and its lowest point over the past year was $19,803. Recently, prices have come down for the 2022, 2023, and 2024 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

Is the Alfa Romeo Giulia a good car?

Yes — the Alfa Romeo Giulia earns strong praise from owners across the lineup for its style, performance, and engaging driving feel. The all-generations owner rating is 4.8/5 across every model year in the data.

Are Alfa Romeo Giulia models reliable?

Across the model years, the car’s appeal is strongest when you value driving enjoyment and design over everyday polish.

• Owners rate the Alfa Romeo Giulia between 4.4 and 5 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.

For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is worth weighing carefully because reliability concerns and electronics issues appear often enough to make a well-documented history especially important.

What should I look for when buying a used Alfa Romeo Giulia?

Across all model years, at 70.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2022 models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Active Driving Assist with lane-centering assistance, adaptive cruise control, an anti-theft alarm, and a feature that recommends a lower speed when it detects the speed limit has changed.
• Infotainment: 12.3-inch digital instrumentation panel and 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
• Fuel efficiency: The official rating is 26 mpg in combined driving, but we observed fuel economy of 22.6 mpg on our mountainous Southern California evaluation loop.

Which Alfa Romeo Giulia trim should I buy?

The 2025 Alfa Romeo Giulia offers these trims:

• Giulia: The base model gives you the core Giulia experience, including the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, rear-wheel drive, and the model’s distinctive style; it’s the best-value starting point if you want the Giulia’s character without stretching for extras.
• Veloce Package: This adds 19-inch wheels and is the right step up if you want a more dressed-up look and a little more presence.
• Intensa: This trim adds black wheels with gold surfacing, black brake calipers with gold lettering, a black leather interior with tan accents, and leather on the dashboard and door panels, making it the most distinctive choice for shoppers who want the richest cabin presentation.
• Tributo Italiano: This limited-production model gives you a special-edition path in the lineup for buyers who want exclusivity.

What Alfa Romeo Giulia do most buyers choose?

The Alfa Romeo Giulia years with the most listings are 2018, 2019, and 2023.

These higher-volume years tend to draw more shoppers because they offer a wider selection of examples at familiar price points. They also give you more room to compare condition, mileage, and equipment before you buy.

What is the Alfa Romeo Giulia's resale value?

The table shows broad downward movement across the lineup, which can work in your favor if you’re shopping used. Several years have seen sizable drops, while a few have moved down more gradually, so the market is giving buyers more room to find value. The smallest changes are concentrated in the years that have held up best so far.

The 2023, 2017, and 2018 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

• 2024: 7/10
• 2021: 7/10
• 2020: 9/10

Should I buy a used Alfa Romeo Giulia now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2024 model is at −7.14% versus a year ago, and the 2023 model is at −1.68%.
• Deal availability: The 2023 model has 37.2% good and great deals.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2018 model has the most listings at a current average price of $15,799. The Alfa Romeo Giulia offers a distinctive, driver-focused character that makes it feel special every time you get behind the wheel.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: With the departure of the Quadrifoglio, every 2025 Alfa Romeo Giulia has a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine making 280 horsepower and 306 pound-feet of torque that flows through an eight-speed automatic transmission and a carbon fiber driveshaft.
• Tech: The Giulia’s deeply recessed analog gauges departed the car after the 2023 model year, replaced by a modern 12.3-inch digital instrumentation panel, and you’ll find the 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system to the right.
• Safety: A Driving Assist Package is new for 2025. It equips the Giulia with an Active Driving Assist system with lane-centering assistance working in conjunction with the adaptive cruise control for highway driving situations.
• Starting price: Unless you’re choosing a base 2025 Alfa Romeo Giulia with no options, you’re likely to pay over $50,000 for one.

If you're buying used today, the 2018 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
