New & Used 2026 Lexus RX Hybrid for Sale nearCedar Knolls, NJ

Is the 2026 Lexus RX Hybrid a good car?

The 2026 Lexus RX Hybrid earns a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.

The RX 500h F Sport Performance takes a different route to luxury-crossover performance by using hybrid technology to deliver strong power while improving fuel economy. It also brings a comfortable, tech-rich interior that fits the expectations you have for a luxury crossover.

The trade-offs are clear: it is not as powerful or quick as most rivals, and the F Sport badge does not translate into much real sportiness. Its ride is also overly firm.

With 32.7% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Lexus RX Hybrid reliable?

The RX Hybrid is presented as a vehicle that combines hybrid power with a traditional automatic transmission, and the powertrain is described as working well together. The hand-off from electric to gas propulsion is seamless, and the transmission delivers smooth shifts.

Lexus also gives you a useful three-year Drive Connect subscription with Google points of interest and real-time traffic information, which adds everyday convenience.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the firm ride and real-world fuel economy may be less satisfying over time than the specs suggest.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Lexus RX Hybrid?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a thorough inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or one with signs of curb rash, tire wear, or suspension complaints. Focus on overall condition, because the RX 500h’s larger wheels and firmer setup make wear-and-tear easier to notice.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The RX 500h F Sport Performance emphasizes style with a bold front end, 21-inch wheels, dark trim, and a sporty cabin with Dark Graphite or Rioja Red leather, a perforated leather-wrapped steering wheel, and aluminum pedals. The base setup already includes a pair of digital screens and soft-touch materials, so you are mainly paying for the more aggressive appearance and performance-oriented hardware.
• Powertrain: It uses a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with two electric motors for a combined 366 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. The system pairs with a six-speed automatic and AWD, and Lexus quotes a 5.9-second 0-60 mph time.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection and intersection assist, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, high-beam assist, traffic-sign recognition, and emergency steering assist. Front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitors, and rear cross-traffic alert are also standard.
• Infotainment: You get a 14-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a standard head-up display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging, and voice control through Lexus Intelligent Assist.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA rates it at 27 mpg city, 28 mpg highway, and 27 mpg combined. In testing, it averaged 18.4 mpg over 120 miles of mixed driving.

Is the 2026 Lexus RX Hybrid safe?

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection and intersection assist, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, high-beam assist, traffic-sign recognition, and emergency steering assist. Front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitors, and rear cross-traffic alert are also standard.

The main caveat is the IIHS moderate front overlap result, which is the weak spot in an otherwise strong safety picture.

Should I buy a 2026 Lexus RX Hybrid or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• It pairs hybrid power with strong equipment, a tech-rich cabin, and a more powerful RX 500h setup.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It offers multiple powertrain choices and a broader range of trim levels.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest RX Hybrid with the latest equipment and you are comfortable paying for it, the 2026 is the cleaner target. If you want more choice and may prefer a broader RX lineup, the 2025 is the better value-oriented path.
