New & Used 2026 Dodge Durango for Sale nearWinsted, CT

Is the 2026 Dodge Durango a good car?

The 2026 Dodge Durango earns an expert rating of 6.5/10. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

That score fits what you get here: a three-row SUV that still delivers the power, practicality, and value many shoppers want, even though it has been sold essentially unchanged since 2010. If you like V8 power and analog controls, this is the kind of SUV that still makes a strong case for itself. The trade-offs are clear, though: dated interior materials and a lack of modern safety features.

For buyers who want an old-school, high-value family hauler with real personality, the Durango still has a lot going for it. The market also shows 37.0% of listings as good or great deals, which supports its value pitch.

Is the 2026 Dodge Durango reliable?

The 2026 Dodge Durango is presented as a long-running, familiar design that has been sold with only minor changes for years, which can be reassuring if you prefer a proven formula. Its performance hardware is straightforward, and the available V8s, eight-speed automatic, and AWD system are described as smooth and unobtrusive.

The Durango’s old-school layout also means you are dealing with an aging platform rather than a fresh design. That matters for long-term ownership because older architecture can leave you more exposed to wear, dated components, and the compromises that come with an aging vehicle.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Dodge Durango?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially because the Durango’s age and dated structure make condition more important than mileage alone. Focus on how the interior, electronics, and safety equipment have held up, and make sure the vehicle matches the trim and equipment level you expect.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base GT is the most stripped-down version, with a no-name six-speaker stereo, while higher trims add more comfort and convenience equipment. The GT Plus brings leather, heated first- and second-row seats, ventilated front seats, adaptive cruise control, and a wireless charging pad, while the GT Premium adds a leather-wrapped instrument panel, a suede headliner, more driver-assistance features, and a 19-speaker stereo.
• Powertrain: The standard 3.6-liter V6 makes 295 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, while the available 5.7-liter Hemi V8 makes 360 hp and 390 lb-ft and raises towing capacity to 8,700 pounds. A 6.4-liter V8 and a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 are also mentioned for higher-performance versions.
• Safety package: Blind-spot monitors and front/rear parking sensors are standard. Forward automatic emergency braking and lane-departure warning are standard only on the GT Premium and optional on the Hellcat Jailbreak, while automatic emergency braking is unavailable on the regular Hellcat.
• Infotainment: Every Durango gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Uconnect 5, navigation, HD Radio, SiriusXM 360L, OTA updates, and wireless Apple CarPlay; Android Auto is wired.
• Fuel efficiency: The AWD V6 is rated at 17 mpg city and 24 mpg highway, the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 at 14 mpg city and 21 mpg highway, and the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 at 12 mpg city and 17 mpg highway.

Which 2026 Dodge Durango trim should I buy?

The 2026 Dodge Durango is offered in 5 trim levels: GT, GT Plus, GT Plus AWD Hemi V8, GT Premium AWD Hemi V8, and SRT Hellcat.

Here's the short version:

• GT: This is the entry point, and it is the least expensive way to get into the Durango. It comes with the standard V6, rear-wheel drive, and the core Durango experience, but it also has the most basic audio setup and is the trim most likely to feel stripped down.
• GT Plus: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds leather, heated first- and second-row seats, ventilated front seats, adaptive cruise control, and a wireless charging pad. If you want a more comfortable daily driver without jumping to the pricier performance trims, this is the one to target.
• GT Plus AWD Hemi V8: This trim is for you if you want the stronger V8 and standard AWD without going all the way to the top of the range. It also adds high-beam assist, a sunroof, and Nappa leather.
• GT Premium AWD Hemi V8: This is the most well-rounded upscale choice. It adds a leather-wrapped instrument panel, a suede headliner, more driver-assistance features, and a 19-speaker stereo, making it the best fit if you want the richest everyday experience.
• SRT Hellcat: This is the extreme performance choice. It is its own animal, with the highest price, the most power, and the most aggressive hardware and features.

Forward automatic emergency braking and lane-departure warning are standard only on the GT Premium and optional on the Hellcat Jailbreak, so safety-minded shoppers should pay close attention to trim choice.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Dodge Durango?

• Clean inventory: 92.9% of listings are accident-free.

Is the 2026 Dodge Durango safe?

The 2026 Dodge Durango earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.

Blind-spot monitors and front/rear parking sensors are standard, and a driver’s knee airbag plus a central side airbag between the front seats are also noted as positives. Forward automatic emergency braking and lane-departure warning are standard only on the GT Premium and optional on the Hellcat Jailbreak, while many modern driver-assistance features remain unavailable.

The main caveat is that the Durango’s dated body structure is expected to trail newer rivals in crash performance, and recent IIHS ratings were not available at the time of writing.

Should I buy a 2026 Dodge Durango or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 37.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• It still delivers old-school V8 power, strong towing ability, and standout value for the money.

Consider the 2025 if:

• The 2025 is the final-year version with a broader legacy lineup and a more established end-of-run appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the newest version of this aging formula and you value the Durango’s performance-first personality, the 2026 is the one to shop. If you are more price-sensitive and want to maximize value, a well-kept 2025 may be worth a look as long as the equipment and condition line up with your needs.
